I'll base my prediction on the combined point spreads of the last two seasons of IIAC games.

1: 421-175 = +246 Wartburg
2: 410-331 = +79   Central
3: 335-296 = +39   Coe
4: 322-293 = +29   Buena Vista
5: 382-360 = +22   Simpson
6: 350-369 = -9      Loras
7: 324-338 = -12    Luther
8: 373-419 = -46    Dubuque
9: 188-533 = -345  Cornell

I looked at Kohawks picks and thought those made a lot of sense.  Then saw warthogs picks with his reasoning behind them and noticed the only difference between his and Kohawks was Loras and Luther switched places!!!

Those picks make sense, but it will be fun seeing how things play out.  Warthogs thought for the day reminds us of why we play the game.  Plus, I definately didn't see BV and Loras having the seasons they did last year.  Though maybe I should have if I had been paying attention to things.

1: Wartburg
2: Simpson
3: BV
4: Luther
5: Coe
6: Central
7: Loras
8: UD
9: Cornell

I still think the top three teams in the conference this year are Wartburg, BV, and Simpson.  I think those three could play musical chairs.  Luther, Coe, and Central will all piss pound each other in the middle.  Loras, UD, and Cornell could all change places, personally I hope that Cornell does better than last place AGAIN!

WH:

I pulled out an old video to show some of our linemen how to run a rocket screen and the guard with blazing speed looked pretty familar.

Coaches poll seems about right.

Favorite HS Teams:  Mediapolis, Camanche, Davenport ASS, Muscatine

1-Wartburg
2-Central
3-Simpson
4-9 Everyone else. I can't make much of a case for ranking anyone ahead of the other.

FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

3.  Central
4.  Buena Vista
5.  Luther
6.  Dubuque
7.  Loras
8.  Coe
9.  Cornell

Have to wonder if they'll be shipping black and orange ones to Waverly, or purple and gold/black and blue to Dubuque, etc.

I would guess your local distributor would need to asking for the different colored cans.

Knowing Dubuque, they would flood the town with purple and gold cans and not even consider blue and white ones.

Last year Simpson and Loras were 5-3. Luther, Central and Coe were 4-4. I have a hard time seeing any of them moving much in any direction. I guess if Central can find a good running game and upgrade their defensive backfield they could rise above the rest, but I don't see them improving more than two games.
According to BV's website, their running back and fullback didn't return this year. Add in a new QB, center and 2 guards and they should come back to the pack.
I'm willing to bet UD will be a more physical team this year and won't turn the ball over nearly as much which could bring them up to the field.
That leaves Wartburg on top and Cornell on the bottom and a lot of entertaining football in the middle.

1. Wartburg 7-1
2. BV            4-4
3. Central     4-4
4. Coe          4-4
5. UD            4-4
6. Loras        4-4
7. Luther       4-4
8. Simpson    4-4
9. Cornell      1-7

I don't know if thats even possible, but there will be some ties in the standings and by listing them alphabetically, I should get a couple right.

Coe is going to win every game this year scoring nine on avg. and keeping the opposition averaging 7.  Elliot Rausa will be named IIAC MVP.  His average field goal will be from 37 yards out.

If Sportswipe can rank Coe second to last than I can rank Wartburg second to last.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Quoted from the article:

"...Elizabeth Altmaier, the U of I's faculty athletics representative, said she opposes associating college athletics with alcohol.

"There may not be a tiger hawk on the can, but it's clearly meant for fans of U of I athletics, and that is not the message we wish to send," she said..."

I never knew it was called a Tiger Hawk.   Didn't the term Hawkeyes come from the "Last of the Mohicans"?  ???

What say the supporters of the "State University of Iowa"?

Quick!  Pronounce Shug Jordan phonetically.  It's nowhere near how it is actually pronounced.   :)
