I think I have little better outlook on the IIAC teams.

But now I'm a little confused on the who's who of the IIAC era's?
So let's sum it up....

Coe and Cornell 1902 match up?....Purple Heys was there! He new that the article was 10 years old and admitted to being in the "horse and buggies going back to Mount Vernon."
Plus there's an eye witness photograph of him playing with such intensity.

Willy Penn and Central?.....Old Dutch would be the one to see. "I played when Willy Penn and Central were big rivals.  I think they beat us something like 42-6 my soph year." So, seeing that there's no recorded record of this victory on the internet. I would put that into the early 1920's. Adding that they used cheers like, "Rather be dead than red", that would verify that.

And if I wanted to tie one on in this era (no matter which match up), I would go to Little Warthogs livingroom before the game!

Oh, and I almost forgot. Use a can of Pringles instead of aluminum foil to get a better picture for the game this weekend. Purple Heys

I do have to say I was feeling a little old and a little crazy before I read these, but now I feel just fine! ;D :o ::)

I am glad you are just fine now.  Thats us on the IIAC Board here to serve and make it all better.  I must say Purple Heys looks really really good for having been at that 1902 game.   ;D ;D ;D

You'll notice that that picture ages while I do not...  :o

Purple Heys,

Now would I screw things up by switching the 1 Large Dr. Pepper with 1 Large coke?
or, if i do substitute, just go with the bloody mary? ::) :o

Better yet.....or do I just continue to drink, because remember I do have a game on Friday and two on Saturdays?

I think you need the list of favorite hangover cures too.

Here's mine:  (As posted previously)

Taco Bell : The "Value Menu"
1 Crunchy Taco
1 Soft Taco
1 Tostada
1 Bean Burrito
1 Large Dr. Pepper

After about an hour after, you'll take a dump worthy of song.

Then, good as new.

If it is a Saturday and you have to get up and do it again, I usually go for a Dr. Pepper or Mt. Dew and breakfast sandwich. I also suggest that you drink your first beer within the hour that you woke up and have some sort of dip ready to go.
If it is a Sunday and you can lounge, nothing better then some Chinese food

It's all about the $$ though as to when something like this would move forward.  We need sugar daddy like Dubuque.   :)

Sugar daddies actually.  While the Chlapaty family has been generous with their money (to the tune of about $66million) as well as time and leadership.  There are others that have been very good to UD.  The Wendt family gave $32million earlier this decade for the Wendt Character innitiative with the money going towards scholarships, a lecture series and money for professors.  The Myers family gave over $7million for 2 library expansions and then an additional $8 million for the construction of the Myers Center.  The Dunlap family gave in the neighborhood of $5million for the Technology center.  And, the Oyen family gave over $2million for the soccer field...I always like to see money go towards soccer!!!

I really liked it better when pick'ems, in game updates, and discussions were all on the same board  :'(

Do any high schools play at the other IIAC schools fields?
Last year Newton played a game on Central's field during a torrential downpour that would have had their field torn up something awful.  Though I think it was planned before the weather was known.  Central won't be having any Pella or Pella Christian games on their field this year as both of those schools put in field turf this summer.  Central's field is the "old, has been" of the town.

Not too many towns of Pella's size with 3 field turf fields!

I have 2 questions:
1.  How do you spend $2 million on a soccer field?
2.  Why would you spend $2 millon on a soccer field?

There have been some bad reasons for missing football games posted on here.  I've had a few myself.  But, "getting a cat," has to be the worst.  I just hope that the dramatic three post way you broke this disturbing news indicates that you are some how being compelled to do this.  And while I say that, it takes all of the tastefulness I can muster to avoid using a euphemism for feline followed by the word "whipped."

Does PC have their own field at the new school now, or do they still share with PHS?

We're getting a cat.

The only way I would brag about getting something feline is if it was still attached to Maria Sharapova. :o

Sorry if I offended anyone but the ghost of Johnny Carson made me do a cat joke.
