I don't remember the picture being so jerky last year.  It is still very cool to get to see anything.

I have 2 questions:
1.  How do you spend $2 million on a soccer field?
2.  Why would you spend $2 millon on a soccer field?

Did UD hafta purchase/raze houses?

Back in the 60's when I was a student there, the U owned all the land from the present football field to HiWay 20.  I don't recall any houses there ... just fields of weeds that a path got mowed through for the x-country team to practice on.  I also helped clear the trees from the present site of the two dorms which are just east of the curent stadium.

Same thing happening here. My first time on this webcast. Audio clear and not choppy. So, not sure what to think on the video?? :o

I hope I don't sound like I am complaining.  I can remember when I couldn't even count on getting the score in the paper on Sunday.  Getting to watch a choppy picture is so cool it almost makes me weepy.

Of course as I was making the last post, my screen that was showing the game went black.

There have been some bad reasons for missing football games posted on here.  I've had a few myself.  But, "getting a cat," has to be the worst.  I just hope that the dramatic three post way you broke this disturbing news indicates that you are some how being compelled to do this.  And while I say that, it takes all of the tastefulness I can muster to avoid using a euphemism for feline followed by the word "whipped."

I don't know what the home field advantage is supposed to be worth,

but I am sure glad Central didn't have to play that one in Wisconsin.

Oh, I am so happy to eat my words!  I WAS WRONG!  Central did deserve to be ranked and they do deserve a climb in the rankings this week.  Fantastic game Dutch!  I would swear I saw a little of the team from 2 years ago on that field today.  They never gave up and they found a way.  We have a lot of great players on the team and I don't want to diminish anyone's performance, but the SE Polk boys came through with huge performances today.  David Zachary also played probably the best game of his college career.  The defense was huge today in the way they played, they had to with the height number 4 had on them  If the ball was on target for the pass, he stood far taller than our defense, but they played it well in spite of the difference.  It was great to see Central believe in themselves again.  Keep it up boys, some of the toughest competition is right in our own conference.

Great coaching, great playing, great game!   :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I feel real good about a Central Dutch win today! ;D ;D

I think it's going to be a close game and a great game to watch! ;D ;D

Truer words were never posted a close victory it was.  The Dutch did a great way of coming back after half.  Finding a way to get it done.  Keeping a good team in check much of the game.  Hats off to the Pointers they played a good game.  The Dutch found a way.  Congrats to the boys in the wooden shoes.  And in the words of the some of the people at the game there were glimpses of the "good ole days" as they said.  There was a grit and determination in this team that had lacked last year no disrespect to last years team they just picked the intensity up a few notches today.  The ran the ball hard and down hill much of the game falling forward getting that extra yard or two.  Passing just enough and when they needed to.  Another person at the game said and I whole heartedly agree that the Dutch's conditioning was a huge factor and hats off to Coach Anderson and his staff for getting the Dutch in that shape.  The Pointers had there hands on the hips much of the second half and seemed to have been gased.

Pointers good luck on the rest of the season.  You have a good team and would not be surprised to see you in the playoffs come November.

What a game! What a game! What a game!

Those are the games that you wait for to watch. I could not sit down at all in the second half. Watching the game leaning over the chair and pacing the floor as the game unfolded. Everyone was going crazy here!

My hats off to the Central Dutch players, coaches and the fans! (heard you loud and clear through the webcast)

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
