My hats off to that gentleman. I don't think I could have handled it that well. ;D

High school "Miracle" games...

Uhhhhhhh, can't really think of any.  We weren't very good when I was in school.  In fact, my class didn't win a single game until Homecoming of our sophomore year (0-4 in 7th grade, 0-5 in 8th, 0-4-1 in 9th, 0-4 or 5 to start soph season).  That was a pretty big deal for us, as was earning a tie with Beckman freshman year.  Biggest wins we had were probably that first one, knocking Camanche out of the playoff race in our final home game as seniors, and an overtime win over Beckman my junior year.  That one came when their all-state kicker biffed a PAT that would have sent the game to a 3rd OT.

Wow you guys sucked. At what point did they move you to QB and start winning?

Or did they finally move him from QB and start winning? ;D ;D ;D Just teasing Jesse.  How is the new job going?  Been meaning to ask.  Things going pretty well? Miss seeing you on the sidelines and up in the parking lot.

At what point should it concern me that Wartburg d-backs are making so many tackles?  ???

Given that a safety led the Knights in tackles the last two years (Jason Lansing), I don't know that I'd be that worried about it.  If you go back through the Willis years, you'll find a lot of safeties that have the ability to lead the team in stops - Devine, McIntire, Lansing, Laing, etc.

I don't dispute the bolded statement at all.  Ours was a small class (70 kids), and the fact that a dismally low percentage of the guys in my class played football definitely didn't help our cause.  Cascade is very much a baseball/basketball town, often to the detriment of some of the other programs.

As for me playing quarterback, now that would have been a sight to see.  I can just hear the coach explaining it to the parents of the guys I was playing in front of.  "Yeah, he's slow, but he makes up with it by not having a strong arm."  Most of my offensive snaps came at the positions of tackle, long snapper, and a few at tight end.

When people would ask me, how was your high school team? I would answer, "We sucked." I will now answer to them, "We were okay". Because I now have a new definition to...We sucked.

How we eeked out a 4-5 record our senior year, I'll never know.

I will admit that they have always had a chance to win.  Most years it is up until the game starts.   ;D ;D ;D  Sorry Heys that just struck me funny.  I know I know that was a low blow.  If any team can the Rams can.  On the serious side the Rams are one of very few teams that have beaten the Knights in recent years.

I have a question.

Thinking about the Rams and their 0-fer conference seasons the last 3 years.

When Dubuque was going through some of their 0-fer seasons they were getting blown out by scores of 84-14 and 77-0.  Cornell has had almost no blow-outs like that.  Many games they are playing competitively until the 4th quarter.

What would be harder to take...getting your butt whupped bad and not winning a game?  Or playing teams tough, but still not getting a win on the season?  Curious to see what people think.

I'm not sure, losing is losing.  I don't think any player with his salt thinks that moral victories are as good as a real win.  I know where you are coming from to get a whippin like 77-0 you can say boy we didn't even have a chance or belong on the field.  A 22-21 like what happened last weekend you say man what if.  Well both are L's and in the end I don't think players really like it either way.  The one point wins may help the coaches keep their jobs.  To many 77-0 losses and the coach may be looking for another job.

Speaking of another job.  Do you know if Coach B found other employment yet?
