Any Central fans making the trip over to the Key City tomorrow?  I'm on the fence about whether I'm going to the game or not.

Jesse I will be there with my father in law.

Sad to say as an Ewaloo alum the losing streak was 60 games. 4 games longer than their winning streak.

Ditto!! I can't remember the last time I was @ a Trojan game. I know I didn't see a single game during their losing streak, but didn't miss a game during their winning streak. I believe they actually had 57 games in a row without a loss. I think they tied the game before they went on their streak.

I know the last one in W'loo I went to was @ Sloane Wallace. I did get to a couple games when I was living in CR when E. High came to town and played Jeffy J-Hawk in NON-Conference games.

Great finish + East High WINS  34-33 2 OT's :) :) :)

"With East's supply of timeouts exhausted, West simply had to take a knee three times to win the game in regulation. But the Wahawks drew a personal foul penalty, one of their 11 flags on the night. Thus, the clock stopped with six seconds to go. West had to punt.

On came Sawyers. He got a hand on the kick, which sailed out of the end zone. Thus, the game was tied at 20.

"I just knew we had to go for the blocked punt," said Saywers. "I came after it and it was there."
then West missed and extra point @ the end of 2nd OT after East had scored and made the PAT.

Ended 15 game losing streak and 9 straight against West.

CR Gazette article on Coe's Frank Weymiller

http://gazetteonline.com/sports/2009/09/18/coe%E2%80%99s-weymiller-right-back-where-he-almost-started-his-career

"Desiring to follow his father, David, and other family members, Weymiller enrolled at Iowa State and joined the football team as a walk-on. One year in the big time sent him back to Coe.

"I liked it there, liked the school and everything," Weymiller said. "But I guess I just wanted the opportunity to play football four years instead of possibly one."

Today is the closest (mileage) Wartburg Football game for Mr. and Mrs. Warthog until the Knights play Monmouth in the playoffs later this fall.  ;)

The Wartmobile pulls out in 35 minutes.  The Hub City is in the cooler and the sandwiches are packed.  We'll see Ram and Knight fans in about 1 1/2 hours.  ;D

What is really sad is that there were only 250 people watching a 5A game in Phoenix.

The game was televised over here, along with being webcasted. Unfortunately it was my sons team on the losing end.
I did say in an earlier post that I wasn't sure about a win. The mini streak is over. Time to start it over with Central tomorrow! ;D

Having spent a year in Phoenix I know it still is hot this time of year, so watching a game on TV is attractive. I just think for high school players particularly, there should be fans in the stands to support them.

Yes, your correct on all. Still reaching 103 degrees some days and the others....if you consider 100 degrees as a cool down? ??? Then it's getting cooler.
I was quit surprized to not see the stands all the way filled? Both sides? I dont' know if it had to do with the home team had absolutely no parking. I had to park at a church down the street and I was early.
Two games ago, I was late and as i mentioned if you were late you didn't get a seat. I had to watch the game from the second story of the parking garage. It ended up being a good seat. Away from the crowd and a breeze cutting across the top of the parking garage! ;D
I believe in going to the game, even if it s in TV. I just wish I could be at the Dutch game today! :o

So why isn't the Central Dubuque game on line?  I look and it says off air?   ???

Doolittle said UD was having technical difficulties today.  Maybe there is something going wrong in that corner of the state, other than the fact that UD has scored on us twice. ;)
