OK I'll bite...what is a spoofhound???

Well, we're going to go from a special story to...............

The spoofhound is by definition a lazy dog, a castrated dog, or a Plaster of Paris carnival toy from the 1920s. :o ::)

I guess I can now stop calling my dog a Beagle Mix and start describing her as a "Spoof Hound"

  She is very lazy ;)

I find it interesting that Wartburg is receiving votes yet no mention of a 3-0 Coe team. I know Coe hasn't beaten anyone of huge caliber but Wartburg does have a loss against a MWC team.

Not that the rankings matter that much, but I would say the d3football.com rankings are usually pretty spot on.

D1 poll has its East Coast Bias

D3 poll has its Lutheran Bias ;)

...And yet, Central still receives a few votes along the way.

Unsung (or not sung enough) for UD:  Colton Hansen....the kid throwing to Zweifel's kid deserves some of the credit.

Colton Hansen   20-28-0 Int 317 yds 3 TD  against Central.  Not bad statistics.

And yet, he sits out two possessions inside the 5 but comes back in for garbage time with the team down by 14?????

I think thats a bigger question then to FG or not to FG.  Because Central scored on 6 of their last 7 possessions, I can only assume DBQ didn't think they cold stop Central in order to get that 2nd FG chance.

Anyone at the game have insight on the Hansen injury for me?

He got hurt on a QB sneak.  It looked as though he hurt his knee.  When he came back his right knee was taped it looked like.  He was hobbling on it and had a noticable limp when he came back in.  I don't agree that it was garbage time at the end.  With a guy like Zwiefel catching the ball they could have come up with a score and maybe kicked it recovered it and had a prayer pass at the end.  Not that it was really likely but it could have happened.  Unless he tore up his knee I think he might be back this week.

So does the news out of Indianola about Simpson's football team having an outbreak of staph infection and possibly N1H1 affect the game Satuday?  Anyone anxious to wrap up a runner that may have a staph infection?

Staph is an opportunistic infection, one which is the natural flora on all our skins. If they have a staph infection (of which there are many differentiated versions) they won't (or shouldn't) be allowed on the field, especially with any wounds.

Someone on the D2 board mentioned they thought Cornell could be a sleeper pick to go D2 and join the NSIC.  The conference Upper Iowa left the IIAC to go to.

He didn't have anything to back the claim up.  Anybody else hear anything about teams moving around between conferences or divisions???

I am serious with this question. And the reason is lack of knowledge on my part, but why would someone go D2? It appears that D1 or D3 are where to be.   ???

Well as an athlete I think the scholarship draws a lot, other than that I don't think there is a lot of news coverage or anything between D2 and D3, I think the difference is when you get to FCS. I loved playing D3 and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!

Many schools feel as though the opportunity to give athletic scholarships (even for token amounts) will aid their recruiting efforts.

I don't think that holds any water at all...does not seem like it would be a smart move. Although I would like to see UIU play Central again, or Wartburg. I'd also like to see a Central vs Drake match up.
