We will be at the Dog House homecoming weekend.  Might even buy a round for sportsknight if he shows up, unless Mr. Harris is already buying ;D.  Unfortunately, my wifes cousin (who went to Wartburg) is getting married (to a Loras grad) the weekend of the UD/Wartburg game, so we won't be at that game.  The last time I talked to him he suggested we skip the wedding and go to the game in Dubuque, but upon further reflection he decided it might be a good idea for him to actually attend his own wedding.

How many of you naysayers will commit to shaving your head when the Rams beat Central tomorrow?   ;D

Any takers?   8)

No dice.  That's Wartburg's homecoming weekend too, so I'll be in Waverly.  Tell Bub at the Dog House it's for me and I mgiht be able to stop back in and take you up on it by proxy!   ;D

I am kind of excited to see what the #10 D3 team in the country looks like.
Me too.  When I saw them last week they were #15.  They may be 5 places better now but I'm still not risking my hair on them.

Let me see, Central beat Lakeland and moved into the top 25.  Then they beat Stevens Point and moved to 16.  Beating Dubuque got them to 15 and Coe got them to 10.  I wonder how many places they will jump if they beat Cornell.

I will give you my prediction as soon as I know the outcome of 9 other games.   ;D

The real question how many places do the Rams jump if they win?   ;)   We all know how many Central would fall...

I noticed Caddy1 completely ignored what I find to be a very important statistic; tailgating balance.

Wartburg fans have shown superior balance according to these unofficial numbers:

Through four games:

Beer:                                                              Food:

Bud Light (12 oz servings)-------2732             Bratwurst-----------2028
Miller Lite (12 oz servings)-------2347             Hotdogs------------1875
Coors Light (12 oz servings)-----2074              Hamburgers--------1578
Michelob (12 oz servings)--------1852             Pork Sandwiches---1399
Corona (12 oz servings)---------1725             Barbequed Ribs-----1145
Heineken (12 oz servings)-------1674             Chicken Breasts-----943
Old Milwaukee (12 oz servings)--1595             Turkey Legs---------921
Hub City (12 oz servings)--------1230            Sub Sandwiches-----749

I think I am becoming a Wartburg fan...that kind of tailgating balance needs to be investigated.  Maybe I can tailgate with the Knight fans and then get twitter updates of the UD games while sitting in Walston Hoover Stadium ;D

Come to the Wartburg-UD game in Dubuque in a couple weeks.  Should be a good Wartburg contingent on hand, and many of them first-class tailgaters.  I'm already planning on rolling my grill over a couple hours before gametime.  Not sure what'll be on the menu yet, but I'm thinking about getting some more of my butterfly pork chop sandwiches that went over so well at the Wartburg playoff games last year.  That and lots of Sam Adams Octoberfest.

Never mind.  Apparently I just got scheduled to work in Cedar Rapids that Saturday.  Son of a bitch!

Just realized the Coe seniors are 0-3 on homecoming at Clark Field.  Time for that streak to end today boys!

I just got up,  put on the coffee, and stepped outside to get the morning paper off the front porch.  (Yuck, what crappy weather.)  I found a sudden urge to sign on to this site and say "thank you" to the IIAC Commisioner or who ever is in charge of scheduling.  I'm glad this is the Knights bye week.  :D

On the bright side for the underdogs in today's games, if there is ever going to be a major upset it is more likely to happen on days like today.

Taking advantage of no Wartburg game today to head down to Arrowhead. Made it easier to talk the wife into the trip since we are headed to KC Sunday anyway for the wedding of a former KNights DL.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

OK guys (and DF1) this is VERY important and we must stick together on this one.  New Man Law:  NO FALL WEDDINGS!  Haven't these gals ever heard of the June bride?  This is serious mental and emotional stress to make a well respecting gentlemen of this fine game spend Sat. afternoons in the fall either getting married, observing friends getting married or celebrating anniversaries.  It becomes a lifeling handicap that can be avoided through wise selections of wedding dates.   What say the jury on this?

Our anniversary is October 13th, and football schedules were carefully considered when selecting that date. No games or tailgating was missed due to our nuptuals.

Using the off week to go to the UNI game with my brother. At least the weather will be good there.

Stay healthy everyone!
