I'm not sure if I'm reading Centrals schedule correctly, but do we have a by week?
and if we don't, why don't we?

The Bye is Nov. 14, the last week of the regular season.  Pretty good spot for a potential playoff team.

This may be old news to many, but this was just broadcasted on the Arizona news channels. You may want to check it out. Caution!.....It hurts to watch this player make this mistake.  :o

It's bad enough to make this kind of mistake, but to have it watched 1,200,000 times on YouTube?  :P

Central's announcers made constant reference to the impact the Dutch players had on the JV team last year.

We are at a competitive disadvantage on that front.

A JV program is a huge advantage. I remember seeing Zachary as a freshman when the Dutch played Coe in a JV game. You could see that he was going to turn into a quality player at the varsity level. When I talked to him after the game, he seemed like a nice, humble kid. I hope he still has those qualities now that he's "The Guy" in the backfield.

Being around DZ for four years now I can honestly say he has not changed a bit.  He is as humble now as he was when he was a freshman.  He has really blossomed into a good player.  He always had the talent.  I think he finally developed the body he needed to be a great RB in the IIAC.  David was a little undersized the first two years for the Dutch.  Coach Anderson has helped make the difference again.

That's good to hear. Now that he's past the Cornell game, I wish him continued success the rest of the year.

I finally took a look at some of the game stats... Cornell had 2 yards rushing against that Central D. I haven't seen Central play this year but 10 yards rushing last week and 2 yards given up this past Saturday. Have fun Simpson fans.

Congrats to the victors today. Impressive wins by the Dutch and by Coe. I need to quit picking Loras to win! The Norse grounds crew has their work cut out for them. From 30 yard line to 30 yard line, it's a giant mud puddle. A little grass left on both ends to work with, but that's about it.

Time to fund raise and get field turf ;D ;D ;D ;D

... and lose Home Field Advantage? ??? ??? ???

I remember when Linfield's field looked just like that.
We had playoff games at the local high school, Willamette, and in Portland.

Het we have struggled to run the ball this year. So throw it last week 12-43 for 122 yds   looks like a long Sat.... :-\ :-\ :-\

On our way down to Bettendorf Saturday morning to go to a wedding, I remarked to my wife "with this weather I guess it's a good thing we are missing the football game and going to the wedding"  She replied "it's only cold out, not raining...I'd rather be at the game"

I've turned her into quite the football fan over the last 10 years.

Not sure what to think of the UD/Coe game.  Sounds like Coe really stuffed the run.  The UD passing game didn't sound bad 20-31-1td and spread the ball around to a number of receivers.  Without being there I have no idea.  I figured UD would take the loss...but not by that score.

On to homecoming and a night game against Loras next week.  Good luck Spartans.

Wait till your son plays.  If you think she has turned out to be a good football fan now she'll really be a great one after watching DD Jr play.

Mrs DF2k4 came from a family of all girls.  She was in the band, her idea was that they had a FB game so that the band had something to do on Friday nights.  ;D ;D ;D just kidding.  She said she would go but never did understand it.  But after watching her sons play for 18 years in a row she now understands the game as good as or better than some men I know.  She actually looks at a schedule and plans meals and out schedule around football games now.

12-43 is really not a good effort.  Were you at the game?  Bad passes? Dropped balls?  Was there a combination of both?

Thinking ahead when I shouldn't be, but since the Johnnies have made it two-thirds of the way through the big conference rivals...

Are Central really good this year approaching freakish?  And don't forget a resurging Linfield.  UWW may have to contend with a few wannabe's before they get to their one real game for the year.

Maybe I am missing what you are asking.  Are Central's what good?  Do you mean as a team are they freakish good?

Isnt that what message boards for though? Us old has beens to look ahead and talk about things coaches would make us run for saying?

Central looks good so far...we will see how they progress week to week, only given up 16 yards rushing and 6 points in the last 2 weeks... I will take that for sure!

I don't think the Dutch are wearing capes and invincable if that is what you are asking.  I do think that this team has the two best lines that they have had in the last 7 years since I have been following them.  They have two guys on the D line that are as big as Gunderson from SJU that are playing tackle.  The D ends are leading the conference in sacks.  The O line are pretty big guys and they have been staying on their blocks and moving opponents around to give the RB's some nice holes to fun through.  When you control the lines on both sides of the ball the way the Dutch have the last two games the only way you would lose those games is by giving the ball away and the Dutch have been avoiding that too.  So I hope OZ that answers your question.

So the west could be going old school good this year.  Linfield, Central, SJU to go along with UWW.  Might make it easier for the ESPN folks if they see some of the old schools doing well.

Somewhat sorta kinda IIAC related...yahoo puts Mt. Vernon in their "Coolest Small Towns in the U.S." list.
