I'm sharing the grief with my Iowa brethren as we too will be experiencing colder than expected temperatures...we're bundling up for tonight's high school games as the mercury is expected to drop below 60 into the 50's.  B-b-b-b-brrrrrrrr.

Earlier this week we set a lowest ever daily "high" of 68!   :o

Just checked the weather forecast for Mt. Vernon. Today is a 3 on the UV index. Like that will freakin matter through your woollies and a parka.

Snow in Indianola...although at this point its melting pretty much as soon as it hits the field.

Not shocked the Kaniggets lost...just kinda shocked it was to BV at home.

Congrats to the Beaves...see youse next week.  No need to worry about us...enjoy your Wartburg win as long as you like.

Thankfully the Auggies salvaged 33% of my CFB Saturday.
It was fun watching 3 games with my 14 month old and seeing her reaction to everything I did. I think she learned some new words today.

I thought this might be the Rams day...still not taking advantage of opportunities.

The Norse did a good job of not giving this away...they played mistake free in terms of turnovers.

Jr. had a nice day going over 1k in his career...drew a PI in the end zone which led to our TD...too bad we couldn't celebrate with a win.

Norse not spectacular, but solid.

Sweet...congratulations Pop!  You are on your way to years of unlimited fun.    ;D

Yeah, we lost...but some progress to note.

I thought our Defense played well on the whole...key goal line stop kept us in it...unfortunately a couple of catches late on our freshman corner made a big difference.

On offense, breakdowns at critical plays, stopped drives and killed scoring chances.  I expected the Norse defense to be tough and they were, but we did move the ball well at times.

Some things to build on as we pursue that elusive conference win.

On the other hand...you gotta win your home games.  Going to BV and Simpson will be tough.

At BV and Simpson will be tough--but doable. Congrats to your son on his milestone and another fine game. Seemed both teams spent the majority of the day trying not to lose, and waiting for the other to screw up. The biggest difference was probably Luthers QB, being a year older, wiser and stronger.

What happened up in Waverly today?  From the updates we heard at Simpson Wartburg was never ever really in the game.  Is that a fair statement?

As for Simpson I was really shocked that Unkrich being a 5th year guy was not better than he was.  He does a nice job on the option and scrambled for yards when he needed them or was flushed from the pocket but his passing accuracy was horrible to say the least.  3 picks and only 1 TD pass does not get the job done in the IIAC.
