Congrats to the Kohawks,  Didn't think that Rick Willis' team would lose two in a row.  Coe deserves big kudos for the W against the Knights on their homecoming.

Haha what, you make him sound like Chuck Norris.  Watch out or he will lose 3 in a row having to travel to Dubuque sporting a defense that can't stop much of anyone at the moment and the magical Z having 330 yards receiving. I might have to pick Dubuque....

wow, 2-2 this week in the pick'ems, I just can't count on Simpson for anything.  Congrats to Coe on the big win, holding Warty to 60 yds rushing and getting 3 picks from Yordi, good day for the D.

I'd have to say, aside from the Dutch shutting off their rushing today, the Norse looked pretty good.  Reynolds throws well, but someone else needs to be carrying the ball for them.  When the Dutch D started getting pressure in the 4th they effectively put the game away.

Good to see the Dutch with a little depth, they had a sub on the O-line and they didn't miss a step.  Don't know if Wnenk was hurt or what but I hope the senior gets back on the field.  Nate S.  had an awesome game rushing and throwing today, even though the Norse took away the  favorite reciever in the family!  He made a pitch for POY himself, except for the fact that DZ took it to  a new level at 174 yds.

Warty at 3-3 with DBQ, the Lutheran Bowl and the Dutch ahead of them, they'll be talking strong finish of they avoid the .500 season.  On the bright side Orange, the Dutch were there last year, so its not necessarily a terminal condition.

Keep your heads up Rams, a bye week to get ready for Simpson,  I think the end of the streak is near!!!

The first time all year I go against my Spartans in the pick-ems and that is my only miss this week ::)

Oh well.  DBQ wins, Hawkeyes win.  Next weekend I will be in Iowa City for a wedding.  If my Spartans can get a win against the Knights I will be able to rub it in on the groom who went to Warty.

I thought Reynolds did a great job of buying time and getting away from the Dutch rush a lot today.  I thought he threw the ball pretty well.  He needs to work on long balls.  That being said he is only a sophomore and has two years to learn that.  If he can throw a better long ball he will really be a force for the Norse.  He is a good player but needs some more time to get better.  The long ball seemed to be over thrown a lot so is he gets more accurate with the long ball the Norse passing game will be something.

20 receptions, 330 yards, 3 touchdowns

OMG, that is one incredible day.    I take it that IIAC people would consider this win an upset of sorts?

I'm not an 'IIAC people', but both Simpson and UD have been so up-and-down this year, I'm not sure 'upset' has any meaning when they come together. ;)

Not near an upset, one bottom tier team squeaking by another bottom tier team. Dubuque needs a defense like Bill Clinton needs an alibi. 300+ yards receiving by one player and win by 3...need some defense.

Offense fills the stands, defense wins championships.

Since I'm about 90 pages behind on here, could some of you informed observers shed some light on what's happening in Waverly right now?

Sure is strange to see them @ 3-3 right now.

If I'm not mistaken, '97 was the last time we lost 3 games during regular season.

Couldn't make it up today since we're coming next weekend.   Of course, they play @ DUB when I'm back.
I wanted to see the 2nd coming of Jerry Rice that DUB has.

Purple Heys, if it makes you feel better, I bought NCAA Football 2010 and used the teambuilder function to download all the teams from the IIAC and replace everybody in the MAC ( I threw in Drake, UNI, and WP just to round it out). Whoever created Cornell made them really good. I've started a new seasons and I think they are ranked #15 or something. They are getting some love somewhere  ;D

Is #12 just huge and a man among boys?  He is pretty large in real life.   ;D ;D

That was one whale of a football game today in Waverly, won ultimately by Coe's defensive superiority. Talk all you want about this being a down year for Wartburg -- I'm not hearing it. The Kohawks earned a hard-fought victory against a quality opponent. It's time people took notice of Coe -- they're good!

This may be Rev. 3's doing...If there is a #5 on that team that is unstoppable, then there's no doubt it's his handiwork!   ;D

These sour grapes taste bad, but the BV'rs got away with one today.

BV was not the superior team on the field...oh sure, they connected 3 long passes and ended up winning 24-17.  But, less the aforementioned bombs, the Beaves managed 88 yards on the ground and 88 yards passing.  Pathetic.

Your longest sustained drive was 36 yards.

Your offense should be buying dinner for your defense for the remainder of the year and make sure they send Christmas hams and birthday cards to our young CB's.

If I'm Coach Anderson, I'm leaving an extra large donation in the pan on Sunday because I know that I just avoided being the slumpbuster.

It's Bye Week and it couldn't be better timing...A whole week where we can focus on what we do, before going back to prepare for Simpson.
