Direct quote in today's CR Gazette:

In regards to his team's chances of entering the D3 playoffs:
"We’ve been trying to do the math,” said Coe linebacker Calvin Thomas. “No one’s really strong at math, that’s not our strong point."

Aye yi yi.   Gotta love that quality Coe edumacation.   ::)

I suppose having to worry about whether you made the playoffs or not is a good thing to have to try to calculate.
KRazy I think your being a little hard on the bozs.  It take aPHD in math and physics to figure out what the NCAA will do.

Hoping it's warmer and the Kohawks can get their first win against the Johnnies.

The Johnnies are pretty banged up, so there is talk of saving you guys the trip and saving the NCAA money by just forfeiting the game to Coe.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Tough draws for both Central and Coe.  I was liking Pat's projections much better.  I even thought maybe they would send Central along with UWW to the North bracket to further break up the juggernaut of the West region highly ranked teams, but I never saw UMHB coming our way.  Time for the IIAC to get to business and prove we deserve two spots and maybe better draws in the brackets in the future.  Go IIAC!

I noticed that Coe's quarterback Brad Boyle has about a third of the Kohawks' rushing attempts but 11 of their 15 rushing TDs.  Is this just a statistical anomaly?  Do they insist on running sneaks and keepers whenever they are deep in opponents' territory?  Something else entirely?

His TD/INT ratio is also ridiculously impressive.  Does Coe run a conservative offense or is Boyle just that accurate?

Hopefully it will be a Boyle Battle this weekend--St. John's quarterback Joe Boyle has been injured the second half of the season (and out the past two and a half games) with a torn ligament in his throwing hand, but he's out of his cast and expected back this week.  Still, expect the Johnnies to run a lot more than in past years.  They've become something of a "3 yards and a cloud of SpinTurf rubber pellets" team.

Lastyearpop: Welcome aboard and great post.... I agree with everything you said. Great to have another "lurking" Spartan supporter on the post board (The Spartan Nation is growing--DBQ1965 will have to add you to the list). And thanks for believing in the future of UD and Spartan football to send your son there.
