wow, is this dude on some of that Belguim crack or what???? Anyways...tough loss this week to Loras, I heard it was a great game to watch, but just fell short at the end.  One thing that Loras is, is a second half team.  The coaches do a good job of making adjustments, so maybe next week.  I want to know who our front runners are, I hear little from WB, what is the problem?  Almost seems like many are dumbfounded with the loss to Mikilian or however it is spelled( sorry for the miss spelling for all who care).  Central seems to be up to their old ways, but it is still early.  The most impressive teams so far seem to be Coe and maybe Central.  What does BV have? same with Simpson, I thought they were supposed to be the big teams this year with so many back?? well let me know how this goes, I got some football tape to watch, gotta keep up that 8th ranking...later   House
Ok Ok ok lets just take this one foot at a time.....

Freebird,
This is an honest to God question.  I don't know the answer.  Maybe Pat may have some insight.  When looking at at large bids into the playoffs what is more impoortant:
  (A) That years, head to head,  record between conferences

  (B) The previous years playoff record of the two conferences

   Question:

How much of that playoff record is attributed to St. John's and how much to the rest of the conference?
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

coocoo,
By my count, since the 1999 season, MIAC teams in play-offs:

SJU 16-4
Concordia 1-1
Bethel 0-3

A tradition unrivaled...
MIAC Champions: '32, '35, '36, '38, '53, '62, '63, '65, '71, '74, '75, '76, '77, '79, '82, '85, '89, '91, '93, '94, '95, '96, '98, '99, '01, '02, '03, '05, '06, '08, '09, '14, '18, '19, '21, '22, '24
National Champions: '63, '65, '76, '03

Coocoo,

Since now we have started a new subject and are talking about at large bids in the playoffs it's pretty clear it's the head to head games.  Frankly, I'm suprised you didn't know that.

Probably quite a bit is attributed St. Johns, I'm suprised you didn't know that either.

fyi, are we the kings of karma is the west region or what  :)?  Hats off for that

Have a great year IIAC...

Big game coming up on sat. Simpson at Wartbug.  Who wins and why?

The Show

I don't know if I'd say Bethel stomped BV.  They were trailing BV heading into the 4th quarter.

House76 - BV returns pretty much everyone on offense, but only 2 starters on "D".  Contrary to what Dowjones thinks, BV has one of the best WR's in the conference in Jesse Schmidt.  They also return a 1st Team All-Conference RB in Pearson.

I'd take BV's #1 & #2 WR over UD's.  Is Daunta Peterson the fastest player on UD's squad?
Sometimes You're the Windshield & Sometimes You're the Bug!

Lance Harbor

CooCoo Kohawk - The individual year's head-to-head is more important.  How they did in the previous year's has absolutely no baring on who gets picked.  Three years ago, they kicked around the idea of using previous year's data in the formula, but apparently, they axed it.

Pat Coleman

And even that wasn't to be used to select teams, just to seed teams once they were already selected.

Dowjone$, I love the enthusiasm but Blackburn isn't exactly bringin it on defense like Iowa Conference teams. I played with Lovely and he produced against teams inside and outside of the Iowa Conference. For Knake's sake, I hope you guys do well. Just not at our Homecoming.  See ya Oct 15th.

vinnysboy

DOw you must have played for the old man cause Sp. Teams win games.

dbljay21

Dowjone$ coming with a lot of energy...the Luther/UD game could come down to special teams, but I don't think that UD will beat the Norse...Coach Hefty will have the Norse fired up and ready to go and the defense is out to prove that they can still get it done.  No doubt in my mind that it will be a good game.  UD has great athletes that make plays, but Luther hasn't lost to UD in the Coach Hefty Era.
Go Norse!!!

Hawks4life, I think Simpson wins.  Wartburg seems to be down this year.  A lopsided loss to Millikin who isn't exactly a powerhouse, and a very un-impressive win against augsburg.  Augsburg is a perrennial bottom dweller in the MIAC.  Now, I could be completely wrong, but my vote this week is on Simpson until Wartburg shows me something.

lorbec47

I would like nothing more then for UD to be decent...but how in the heck do you go from Cellar-dwellers to all of a sudden the top of the heap? I guess time will tell. Maybe UWP will be DIII National Champs...

sc_stormchaser

Pakk - I hope your prediction is correct, but SC hasn't beat Wartburg in 7 years. In Niemann's 3 years at Simpson, Wartburg is the only conference team that he hasn't beat at least once. Hopefully it will be a good game and Simpson pulls off the victory. Wish I could be there.

Hawks4life

I have to say i like the storm in this one, with wartburgs passing game looking down as of late and simpsons front 4 and returning LBs i think that they will put a stop to any running attack that wartbug comes up with.  In the game last year simpsons defense was very good, it was the offense that couldnt get moving and with wartburgs performance against Milikan i dont think that will be a problem come sat.  But in the IIAC you can only try to predict the out comes of the games. GO STORM!!!!!!
