I went to the trouble of downloading the NCAA rule book...the kicking rules allow the kicker and/or holder to be over the line before the kick.  It is a shame that a  great game had to be tainted by a poor and apparently erroneous call by an official.  I am not saying Central would have won the game anyway, but it is a travesty that they were denied the chance by an officiating crew that misinterpreted a rule. >:(

Why do you break out that call?  They could have pretty easily gotten a yard just handing it to the fullback, allowing them to milk at least a couple of more minutes off the clock.  I mean, if you're a Central fan, that was a huge gift, and I was very appreciative, but I didn't get it from a Cru perspective.
As a Cru fan, I don't get it either.  I can only assume they were trying to catch Central stacking the line.  If that's the case I want Noack in to throw that pass, not Bailey.

By the way.  I enjoyed the broadcast yesterday.  I enjoyed it enough that I listened to you guys instead of the UMHB radio team.

Dutch Radio,

You did do a great job yesterday! I have enjoyed listening throughout the whole season. I think it says a lot when the opposing team says that they enjoyed it also. I hope to hear you in the seasons ahead!

The Johnnies played a very untypical game for them....Crawl back into your hole now, because I didn't see you before the game, so that must be where you were.

We have quiet confidence.  A trait the Johnnies cannot comprehend, go back to your board and stop making a fool of yourself.

To all other Cohawk fans, Good Luck the rest of the way. I just hope you don't have one of those days, like when your QB is puking on the sidelines, your #1 running back is out and your best defensive player is just a shell of his pre injury self.

here come the excuses...

I am in hope that sharing this email is going to be okay, but I thought you should see this.

I emailed Airborne Dutch....
'I know you're farther away than I am from being at the game, but wanted you to know that I'll be in the internet stands along with you and others watching the Dutch. Hope things are going well for you in the skies.
Go Dutch!'

Airborne Dutch replied.....
"We have a very early morning coming up tomorrow. Lots of security for a meeting. The town we are responsible for was hit by a suicide bomber a few days ago, so we need to be on our toes. However, that is not deterring my enthusiasm for the game today! Not looking good right now though."

I'm sharing this because people like this give me/us the privilege to sit in the peace of my living room and watch football. I, along with so many others, have the highest respect for all of those who are serving our great country.
Airborne Dutch, I wanted to give a special and gratifying thank you again!
You are a true Dutch Fan!

(Please do not be upset that I posted this email.)

Someone who is "coocoo" maybe shouldn't throw stones. Not making excuses, just pointing out factors that MAY have contributed to the outcome, and wishing that your QB heals and is ready for the Tommies. Also, someone called it a "thumping." Go check the stats and if not for the turnovers, an objective football fan might think it was the Johnnies in a walk. Both teams had trouble holding onto the ball, and I know the old saying that if my aunt had testicles, she'd be my uncle, all I'm saying is that it was untypical of the way the Johnnies play. You can attribute some of that to the skill of the Kohawks (I finally have the spelling right), but I can't remember a season, much less a game where two turnovers have been taken in for TD's against SJU.

The playoff ship has sailed this year and won't be making anymore stops at the Port O' Johnny.

So, true, and you put it in such a nice way. Your mother should be so proud of you.

However, for Johnny nation, there is always next year, and the year after that, and the year after that.................

Nine of the last ten years in the Playoffs (One National Championship)
Fifteen of the last twenty years in the Playoffs
Nineteen of the last thirty years in the Playoffs....................................... ;D

Don't really want to get into the Coe/Johnie p***ing match here but haven't chimed in on the game yet so here goes.  I believe I read a post from Johnie land that turnovers were more of a season long affliction this year for them.  Maybe not typical Johnnie ball, but perhaps typical for this year.

There is however no doubt 6 turnovers contribute to a games outcome as did the 3 by UMHB.  Johnnies also suffered from the injury bug all season,  and it seems a huge accomplishment to get the team to a MIAC title.

Congrats to Coe for playing a great game and extending a great season.  Just don't go thinking because you beat the MIAC champ that the Tommies will be  a pushover.  It sounds like they may be a better team than St. John's and will be a tougher opponent at full speed.  Good Luck and get IIAC to the Qtrs for the third straight year!  A sweep of the MIAC woudl be doubly sweet BTW!

I want to preface this post by saying UMHB was the better team and deserved everything that happened.
I just have one question: Why were there no calls made when UMHB came onto the field and some of there players took off their helmets during live play?

Airborne Dutch

AZDutch, no problems posting that at all. Nothing happened today. The bazaar was a little tense today but it was still open and busy for business. Shows the resolve of the people to not give in to terrorism. Anyway, got a bit off topic. I was just happy that the internet allowed me to listen in. I'll be even happier if the Armed Forces Network carries the Stagg Bowl!

Congratulations to Coe! I didn't think you were going to do it but it helped prove, at least imo, how overrated St. Johns was this year. Good luck against St. Thomas!

QuoteBy the way.  I enjoyed the broadcast yesterday.  I enjoyed it enough that I listened to you guys instead of the UMHB radio team.

Ditto.

It was nuts trying to follow several games at once. You guys made following the Game of the Week great. May you have many/none of those games again. Your choice!
