Hmm, September and early October drives to Decorah are usually nice.  November 6th...not so much.  That might be a last moment decision on my part next year.  I am pretty sure that will be a Mrs. Doolittle free trip if I do make it.  She usually is losing her enthusiasm for football by November ;D

Report from Mexico...

Weather is very nice...70's.  Field is nice, the Mexican team looks to have some big guys, and some Americans of their own.  Could be a tough game.

Jr. is loving the experience.  He says the Central folks are a good group of guys...

They have 2-a-days Mon./Tues./Wed.

Meals have been good...No Monty's revenge for him so far.  Keep those fingers crossed.   :)

When the kid was there a couple of years ago he didn't fall completely under Monty's, but he was lucky. Better if .JR drinks from sealed containers like Tecate or XX!
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

I think that data isn't looked at properly.  There will be more athletes that show up to school and then immediately know they won't be able to hack it on the field and then leave school.  Some of those kids will end up ditch diggers, but many more of those kids will go on to other schools, as non-athletes, and get their degrees.

NewKnightDad

I don't have any proof but I would guess that if you looked at the majors and classes taken on average by athletes in Div III vs Div I you would see more D-III athletes are seeking a major that has a tougher class curriculum than in D-I.

Underwater basket weaving vs Organic Chemistry?   ;D
Win or lose we still booze!!

Interesting article -- I would venture to guess that the differences between DI and DIII don't end with athletics. Many DIII athletes also juggle other committments in addition to their athletic schedule. Many at Central were involved in Student Senate, student newspaper and radio, Greek life, FCA, etc. Studies I have seen in the past indicate that athletes at the DIII level were academically competitive with non-athletes, while carrying a more stringent courseload than their DI counterparts. Some argue that juggling academics and athletics (and other committments) teaches time management and other life skills that can't be taught strictly in the classroom.
