Was that an NCAA or an NAIA national football title the Dutch won in 1974?  I was thinking we were still NAIA in those days.

Some of you might remember Jesse Schmidt from BV. I know there are a few former DBs and Defensive Coordinators that remember him.

Hey Cali, when are we gonna see that Macey kid on the pitch.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

After reading the article I gave notice to the semi-final score of 17-16. Close scores must have been a tradition for years at Central.
I also gave notice to the player in the background of the picture. Either those are the 1974 version of sports glasses or that player was keeping those together with first aid tape for years?
;D :o ::)

That's a good question. I haven't talked to him in about a month. I'm sure Heys knows a lot more about his post graduation plans. If he ends up in Iowa, I'll certainly try to get him out there.

Let's get him graduated in May before we get too far ahead of ourselves...   :)

Cali:  We'll be out there for the ceremonies in late May...keep your calendar open, there may be a party or 2 in the metropolitan Mount Vernon area.    :D

This was an NCAA Division 1 National Championship...They also won the NAAU title acouple weeks later   ;D

I'm not much of an IIAC historian...Are there any other IIAC teams with a higher than NCAA Division III title in any sport?

I like the sound of that. Let me know when you have some specific dates in mind.
