I've decided to forego my senior years and declare myself eligible for the NBA draft.

:D

NBA scouts will drool over a 50 year old with bad knees and a 5 inch verticle ;)

What are your predictions on the final standings for the IIAC for 2010?

My guess for most everyones picks on here for this season you will get some combination of Central and Wartburg in your top 2.  Pencil Coe in for 3rd.  4th through 7th will probably be some combination of BV, Dubuque, Luther, and Simpson.  Loras and Cornell will battle it out for 8th and 9th in the conference.

Former Wartburg LB Alex Pollock will be the new head football coach @ Aplington-Parkersburg.
Good Luck Alex.

The Wartburg coaching staff should feel confident the A-P pipeline to Waverly will continue.  Does every Wartburg football player end up in coaching???

Well, I know of one player who is interning for Iowa state this summer.

Probably won't learn much  ;D

Yeah, just passion, hard work, and integrity. Too bad he wasn't there for Chizik and learned selfishness, buck passing, and egotism.

in late May...keep your calendar open, there may be a party or 2 in the metropolitan Mount Vernon area.    :D

I may have to crash it under the guise of a recruiting visit.

You'll probably have to crash...I suspect the Heys family won't have their Graduation Party at the Dancers Ranch ;D

You'd be welcomed with hearty hand shake and a cold beverage.    8-)

I'll see if Destiny, Rory, Giselle, or Luna are free that night, if not maybe Brandi, Shaniqua, Charity, or Rhonda can make it.  I'll bring them as my graduation gift.  No need to take the party to Dancers Ranch when I can bring the dancers to you.
Doolittle, leave the wife at home, you will be fond of Rhonda.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I think I would be leery of girls coming from any place with "Ranch" in the name. There could be a possibility of their performance being very "moooving". I'm just sayin'. ;)

Hmm, is she short?  Has a tatoo of a Spartan...or a dagger...or both somewhere on her?  A Hawkeye fan?

I'll choose to stay married...but it might be fun to crash the party just to see the look on Mrs. Heys face when coocoo and his entourage show up on the scene and PH tries to convince her he had no idea this was going to happen ;)  If these girls show up at your Rugby games you might be able to convince me to hit some of those...I doubt my wife would want to go with me to see Rugby...or suspect there would be dancers there ;D

I'm sure they are all very nice girls. Just working their way through college. Probably call their Moms every night.

Since my pick-ems were so good last year, I might as well take a shot at this.   :D

Central - Big surprise there
Coe - When does that QB graduate?
Dubuque - More IA players, more fans in the stands, more momentum
Wartburg - Now that we know Willis coached WB can lose 2 times in a row...
Luther - Good QB making better decisions every game, they hand WB one of the losses
Simpson - won't care if they go lower, but I don't expect it
BV
Cornell - heard they have a coach known to turn things around, and they did win a game in conference last year
Loras

Loras still has a football team? Huh....

;)

In what could be described as potential recruiting news for UD...and good news for sportsknight...

http://www.thonline.com/article.cfm?id=280208

East Dubuque has decided to delay a new law that would have required East Dubuque bars to close at 3am instead of the 3:30am closing time of old, starting May 1st.  Bar owners had said if they had to close at 3am then they would have needed to then open up at 9am to make up for lost revenue.  That sounds like the East Dubuque I used to know ;D

As far a predictions go.  I think I will wait until each school puts out a preseason write-up to try to make some guesses as to the IIAC standings this fall.  I will say that I will be looking at things with Spartan Blue tinted glasses on.  We Spartan fans do tend to be eternal optimists...against all rational thought ;)

Any thoughts of what Bills drafting CJ Spiller in the first round means for Freddie J?
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Gailey talked about getting a back like Spiller. I think Freddie will still start but Spiller will certainly eat into the number of touches that Freddie was gonna get.

It at least means that Lynch is the odd man out.

It's good for Freddie in that most NFL teams use 2 backs...and for the reasonable future Freddie is the #1.  Spiller is going to make an immediate impact as a return guy.  Spiller's a speed guy and Freddie is the heavy duty guy.

I hope for Freddie that Spiller won't be able to take over the bulk of the carries like Chris Johnson did from Lendale White at Tennesee.  Johnson was just too dangerous to sit...Spiller may have that same impact in time.
