Is it too soon to say ... only 17 weeks to go!  ::)

GO SPARTANS!

There's a reason why a football player, after scoring the winning touchdown, looks into the camera and says...."Hi Mom, I Love You!"

OK, any time there is a televised game on Mothers Day they can do that.  The rest of the time it is unnecessary and show boating.

One final word:  I personally like the charm of Ash Park and I will miss it.  I think there is something unique about the Trains that go rumbling by.  When they get to renovating the place I think it will be very nice.  You would need to see a game there, it is not the same just to drive by.

Thanks. I'll have to add Cornell to the long list of D-III football stadiums with train tracks alongside.

You have a list?  Why isn't there a child board somewhere?  C'mon Pat, what do you do all day otherwise?   :D

Before Central moved the field to its current location, there used to be trains running right through the heart of campus and past the backside of the field.  Now the field is moved and the tracks no longer run through campus.  There goes that excuse for being late to class.

Klompen, you are showing your age -- those tracks were removed before I started at Central....and THAT seems like a long time ago!

I've heard rumors for months but it's confirmed now. Coach Miller will add a lot to that staff.

My age is older than dirt, now you all know it.   :'(  So why does it seem like forever before I can retire???

I would say that is a real good early move on the part of Coach B to bring a readily available resource like that back to the sideline.  My respect for him just moved up another notch.  If you have someone like that still in the area and connected with the school, why not use him.  He doesn't have to bear the brunt of the recruiting, but his knowledge and skills should not be ignored.  Good move!

How do you know it was Coach B's move? Maybe administration wanted it? Sometimes you have to do what your boss(es) want. I am not sure how I would feel about it if I were him. He has been a head coach for what, almost 20 years?? Why does he need a "special assistant"?? Maybe it was a strategic move planned all along?? Maybe knowing his wife was going to retire and he as well but he wanted to get back involved with the football program (as a retirement job) and not full time gig with all of the recruiting responsibilities as well.

My conspiracy theory says it was planned before the hiring of Coach B and announced long after. Obviously they don't want to take the focus off of the HC hire but want to generate some more alumni enthusiasm and support for the program. This was strategic all the way.......... ;)

From what I know of Coach B, he'll take any edge he can get.  Coach Miller is a positive resource.  He's a guy that can help them connect with their past success, because that success was his.  Associate yourself with winners.

I like it.  Too bad they waited until after Jr. to do this.

I am excited to see how this season comes together for the Rams.

No matter your age ...when you start thinking about retirement ... it just makes it seems a long way off.  The last 3 years of my job were the longest 10 years I've ever spent.  And retirement is the best "call" I've ever had.  TBTG!
