It's nice to read a story about Cornell football players helping out in the Mount Vernon community...

Sounds like a misguided tackling drill.  Way to create your own good press.  Knock'em down then help pick them up. :o
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Probably would have had to have been a "double-team" drill.  ;D ;D ;D
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Wartburg Opening Night Plans - FIREWORKS (literally) after the game

http://www.go-knights.net/cms/Article.aspx?ID=4471

This is going to put a crimp in the traditional tailgate before the game.   >:(
The food prepared by the parents is way better than what will be offered for sale.   ;D
But I am sure we will support the local business. 8-)
Win or lose we still booze!!

The Spartans have been doing that after night games for 2 years now. It's awesome for the kids and community. And add a lot more spectators to the stands IF you do them right. Can't just have a few bottle rockets, you need to have a mini-4th of july display.

Surprised Lorass hasn't started doing them   ???......they usually copy every thing the Spartans do. No original thoughts  :o

Well they haven't started losing to their cross-town rivals yet. ;)

Would this get you flagged for "excessive celebration" if this was done after a touchdown???

DBQ1965

On a Grand Rapids to Minneapolis to Peoria to Grand Rapids road trip the past 7 days, we drove past Waverly but the timing wasn't right for a stop at The Fainting Goat.  Maybe next time.

Along the way through Iowa saw signs for Wartburg College, Coe College and Cornell College ... but couldn't convince friend wife that UD was "on the way" to Peoria.  Rats!

GO SPARTANS!
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Any thoughts from the Iowegians on the Wartburg/Monmouth opener?

I was born and raised in Peoria, and still come back 3-4 times a year to visit my 90+ year-old parents.  What's your Peoria connection?

A few thoughts...

If too many Illianoy fans call us Iowegians, warthog might put aside his pacifist ways and punch someone :P

Not often you will find a MWC team favored over a Wartburg team AT Wartburg...this year you should.

Now that my wife and I aren't going to Dubuque that weekend to watch UD I am now lobbying hard for the 2 of us to head up to Waverly and take in a D3 game between 2 top 25 teams...and, you know, Knight fans are known to like a drink or two ;D

I second the feeling on the Iowegian remark.

It may be necessary for a modification to the scoreboard at Walston-Hoover to record all the scoring.
I'm sure Monmouth feels they owe us one.It will be a good test to start the season for both teams.
