If I am counting correctly...and I am probably not!!!

The UD roster lists 138 players.

12 - Seniors
9   - Juniors
35 - Sophomores
82 - Freshmen :o

Freshman count I come up with is...
33 - Illinois
23 - Wisconsin
12 - Iowa
3   - Alaska
3   - Puerto Rico
2   - Alabama
1   - Florida
1   - Ontario
1   - California
1   - Nevada
1   - Kentucky
1   - Netherlands

Is there a new rule that allows players to wear a three digit number on their uniform?

During practices, they duplicate numbers.

During games they are limited to less than 100 (70?) players.

Why, were you hoping for an opponent to wear 666? ;D

I don't know how many IIAC players have ever come from the Netherlands, but I can't remember Central ever getting one.  I'm guessing this guy thought he was signing up for the soccer team.

Unless they carefully explained the difference between American football and football almost everywhere else, you may be right. :D

Seeing Coach Atwater's son on the roster has me feeling a little old. I remember when he was a young'n throwing the ball around before and after games.

Even the American School of the Hague doesn't play American football. NFL Europe was very popular there, however.

I just thought it was funny they have a number for everyone on the roster and they just keep going up after 99.

footballdaddy

Perhps those freshmen with numbers over 99 will be gray-shirted. Or just hors de combat.

Mr. Ypsi

Sorry, I didn't realize anyone actually used 3-digit numbers.

Every program I'm familiar with just gives duplicate numbers during practice.  (I know of one school with FOUR #44s!)

BoBo

Who has practice jerseys with 3 digit numbers printed on them? I seriously doubt they're going to embarrass someone by doing that. That would be a pretty sick thing to do, IMO.

They don't use 3 digit practice jerseys. I have looked at the roster a couple times and noticed some players starting to get duplicate numbers which tells me they aren't done updating the roster and just listed all the players and will assign numbers to the duplicates in good time......  ;)

Better then just having a jersey with a RED X on it!!  ;D

The roster was probably done by the same guy who said 170 players were expected in the press release.
