Now that I've vented; I'm on to a happier message.

A second Wartburg Football recruit who will be entering college in 2029 was born this morning.  Little Warthog and his wife are proud parents of a baby boy, Logan.  Logan's cousin and fellow Knight recruit, Camden, was born three weeks ago.    So, if the Wartburg coaches have been putting twenty year shingles on their homes, Logan and Camden should be just about the right age for some decent summer incomes.

Mrs. Warthog and I have been going to the Waterloo/Cedar Falls/Waverly area on a fairly regular basis over the past three weeks.  During this time we've been purchasing plenty of black/orange baby gear at the Wartburg bookstore.

I guess I thought I was fairly clear that I used 11 years because that was the information available on the D3-Football site.  I really don't give a damn how you want to look at the numbers.  I simply reported what was available.
Go ahead, review and print 1-2-5-10 year results, whatever makes you happy. In fact, if it makes you feel better, I'll report that Central is by far the greatest football power to ever take the field at any level of this sport. I'll destroy everything in my closet except for those few red garments I currently own.  I'll become a card carrying member of the Reformed Church.  I'll admit only Central grads should be allowed to enter any kind of graduate school.  I'll be sure to let everyone know the sewer line from Central College doesn't smell when it dumps into the Pella waste water treatment plant.  I'll start wearing wooden shoes.  I'll drop to my knees and point towards Pella for prayer four times a day because I've learned the holiest of all people are at Central College.  Just let me know what you want; I aim to please.

Is that cutting into your Hub City Brewing and tailgating supply purchasing???

As for your rant...we'll all try to put our favorite school in it's most favorable light.  While you went back to the start of this website to make your point, Central fans will look to more recent history to show their dominance.  Heck, even I will mention that the last two times Dubuque has played in Waverly the games have gone into overtime...I will fail to mention that Dubuque only won one of the games...and the previous 3 in Waverly this past decade weren't what you would call nail biters ;)

I got to thinking about how you went back 11 years...going back to August 26th, 1999...Wartburg and Dubuque were tied with 6 IIAC football championships apiece.  I'm hoping the next 11 seasons can shine on UD as they have the Knights over the past 11 years ;)

Congrats to Warthog on the addition to the IIAC champs for 2030, 2031, 2032!

I am glad for that as well.  For some reason UD always plays us better at home than at Pella.

Yep, that 3 point win in Pella 2 years ago for the Dutch over UD with Central making a 45 yard FG with a minute to play sure was a butt whuppin...nothing at all like the Dutch beating UD by 3 in triple ot in Dubuque the year before ;)

Good justification for my predictions much earlier this summer in the conference finish order.  I put UD before WB.  Central men's basketball was a lot like UD football.  There were the good days, then there was a long period of winning drough, but eventually things turn around and you start slowly and steadily moving up.  I just hope UD football doesn't surprise to the extent Central BB did last year.

Congratulations Grandpa!  Have fun with them while they are growing up.  Then try to accept with grace when they decide they want to attend Central.   :D

Geesh, seethe much?

Heck, when I saw the numbers you provided (last 11 year stats) it wasn't clear to me that was all that was provided from the site.....guess I didn't read your post closely enough to pick up that detail.  I thought it was odd that you chose 11 years....

I remember thinking when I read that post the same "accusation" you're making!  Ha!

I suppose that's how it is with favorite teams....everybody wants their team to be the best.  Nothing wrong with that!  A new year brings new opportunity for bragging rights.  Or whining.  Sometimes hard to tell the difference!

Go Dutch!

Makes a nice reference to d3football.com and has a nice quote from Coach Staker at Coe, and of course mentions UD and Loras  ;D

Hey, hey, what do you say? I've been away from this board far too long. Even paid a visit recently to Hayes country. But now I'm back and super excited for the 2010 season. Go Kohawks!

Geez buddy, chill a bit! My only point was that, generally, you can "manipulate" numbers to make your data say what you want it to. (and no I don't mean you personally, I mean anyone) It happens all of the time.

I refuse to believe you are old enough to be a grandfather. Congrats -- enjoy the new little one!  :)

Here in 'Ypsitucky' (the name given by snobs in Ann Arbor, which some of us embrace, others file lawsuits over), old enough to be a grandparent is sometimes 28.  (Fortunately, that is rare; but since I started late, when I coached my sons' soccer teams, every season at least one of the grandparents of teammates was younger than I was.)

[For anyone who hasn't figured out my moniker, I've lived in Ypsilanti, MI, over half my life (now retired from teaching at Eastern Michigan U., located there).  The auto assembly plants from the 20s thru the 50s, but especially the Willow Run bomber plant during WWII, brought thousands of southern migrants north, especially 'hillbillies' from Kentucky.  Some of their cultural 'traditions' came along for the ride.]
