Seems like when ever Andrew Burdick starts playing very good they take him out and put Juan Flores in and Flores throws more interceptions than completions. Andrew Burdick looks like a all-conference caliber QB, then it seems like when they put Flores in its throws his rythem off. I think Cornell would of won the game if they just kept Burdick at QB.

Andrew?

I'm not much for "hanging out" any more. Besides, road tripping to Decorah and Green Bay this weekend.

Charlie,
I think it is entirely probable that you will have a long sad trip to Green Bay this weekend.  Norse and Kohawks match up better than the pickers expect.

Burdick is completing 56% of his passes thus far...not that great.

If I make it up to the game this weekend, I plan to count how many tackles he has.

They brought in Flores on the 3rd series of each half...it looked like they're trying to get the freshman some reps.  He got an extra series in there as well.  Despite the outcome, this is a prudent move.  The Rams don't have a JV team.  The backups are both freshman.  Getting the backup some game situation reps has got to be looked at as insurance should Burdick go down so that the replacement is not a total greenhorn.

I'm one of the bigger, if not the biggest, Ram honk and I like Burdick...but All-Conference...not at this point...check back when he's a senior.

BTW, Cornell had two botched punt snaps, one inside their own 3 and one inside their own 25.  THAT was the game changer.

ANNUIT COEPTIS ... "Providence favors our undertakings"

AZDutchman

The weekend is starting early with a Thursday night game!
I have to throw this out there to get some opinions from the sidelines....
I have the highest respect for the coaching staff at my sons high school, but I find myself questioning his shifting of positions with the players.
Straight out, last game my son played crappy (along with everyone else). He plays center position. He was moved to guard and then during the game he was put back to center. Now he's being shifted to the tackle position (just told yesterday), wondering if he's going to be put back in the center or guard position. This is happening with a lot of other players.
This will be game three that this is happening? The killer is my son is not practicing in the position that he ends up in during the game. He only snapped the ball a few times during practice and finds himself trying to get in the groove on the sidelines during the game. I also talked to him after the games to review what was going on and his frustration is to the point where he doesn't even want to talk about it.
Part two of this is that the parents are looking towards me to answer what the coaches are doing? Like I have the answers? I falsely just voice my continue support of the coaching staff, when inside I'm thinking to myself what the heck are they doing?? The last game was just chaos.
I need to add that we have enjoyed two state championships, one finalist and have been the top finalist in the past six years. So the coaches must know what there doing...right?
I hope you don't mind the high school questions on a college board. My frustration is high.  ???

Tough to move around like that, especially when it involves a position like center, thats a whole new leadership/skill set involved. If they wanted to move people around they should have done it during the pre-season not game weeks. Or, if you are going to move a kid, do it Monday, and leave him there all week, maybe work a bit on some of the slightly different technique it takes, such as snaps, or left hand vw right hand down, or anything, Put some extra effort in on both the kid and coaches part.
