What do a quarter at the bottom of a toilet and a Luther cheerleader have in common?

Everybody sees them but nobody wants to pick them up.

What do you call a genius sitting in the Luther student section?

A Wartburg student.

Even though Central's opponents are in the CCIW and WIAC they are considered in region games.
Osh Kosh is 4-3 with Eau Claire, WW and Stout left, I'll give them 2 wins and a loss for a final of 6-4.
Augie is 5-2 with Wheaton, Elmhurst and Ill. Wes. left, I think 2-1 again for a 7-3 record

Rootin' for the Norse this week.  Go Dutch!

Not go rain on your parade, but I'd wager it's more likely Oshkosh finishes 1-2 (maybe even 0-3) than 2-1.

And auggie could easily lose two of those games, so 2-1 is nowhere close to a given or even probable.

That makes Centrals total OWP 78-86 or .476

Wartburg likewise has 2 in region non-con games, Monmouth and Gustavus.
Monmouth is 4-4 with Carroll and Knox left.  Carroll is leading th eMWC, I'll give them 5-5 at the end.
The Gusties are 3-4 with Tommies, Augsberg and Carlton left, they shoudl end up at 5-5 also.
That would leave Wartburg's OWP at 75-89 or .457

If we add those numbers to the 9-1 D3 records of Wartburg and Central (.900)  vs the 7-1 D3 record for Coe (.875).  And  (Now I know this is wishful thinking) if the Dutch wup up on Wartburg, a big win there could also turn some heads.  Perhaps that upset of the Dutch back in Sept by those KoHawks isn't quite so impressive to the selection committee.  You can obviously see where my rose colored logic is heading.

To put some Sunshine on your parade, I can see this happening. Sometimes rose colored glasses can make the sun look a little bit brighter!  8-) 8-)

I didn't want the Luther/Wartburg folks to have all of the fun this week so I have been working on a way to jab BV.  For some reason my employer has locked me out of doing a web search on beavers.  I don't get it but I managed to come up with this anyway.

Speaking of BV, where are all of the Beaver fans? I miss Klopenheimer, misspelled words and all.  8-)

I could have made a really bad joke, being a dirty old man and all that, but I'll hold off.

Oh come on...I think it's been a couple of weeks since you've irritated anybody on here...that's just not right ;D

In my never ending quest to champion UD and Dubuque in general.  I found this today.

Dubuque has been named "The best small city to raise a family"

Of course, me being from Iowa...I didn't realize a metro area of 90k was considered a small city...I figured the 2k town I live in was a small city ;D

Then again, I'm still trying to drink off the fact my Spartans got spanked by Wartburg and my Hawkeyes completely gave a game away to Wisconsin last weekend :P

Congratulations to the Dutch!

Missed the game yesterday...work. Weren't there highlights of the games before in the past on Centrals website? I looked, but did not see?

Interesting calls during Friday's high school game....I and the announcers (televised) have never heard of one of the calls/rules before or the motion call that the ref showed before announcing the call.

Illegal block below the waist on the lead blocker was called on the defense. (called twice)

The ref, who looked to be experienced (older), had complete control of the game. We were just wondering if the refs at this level had a meeting to make sure all the rules were enforced.
Has anyone heard of this call before? I tried looking it up, but could not find.

As DF24k instructs the side of the ball is not specified.  Per Rule 2-17-1 the free blocking zone allows blocking below the waist as long as the offensive & defensive players are both on the line at the snap & in the zone.  The zone is 4 yards either side of the snap & 3 yards behind each line of scrimmage.

I saw this called on a defensive player (theirs) on an offensive player (ours) this past Friday and was actually surprised because it is so rarely called on a defensive player.

In this particular game our 235 pound fullback was leading the tailback and was outside that zone, and their 185 pound linebacker left his feet and dove straight at our fullback's knees, intending to take the blocker out but not play the ball.  I think the referee saw the lack of intent to make a play on the ball and engage in a dangerous manner (leaving his feet) was the basis.  I thought it was a good call.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.
