Go Knights!

Damn...did I really just say that?
Kind of makes you feel like gagging, doesn't it?   :D

Gosh, I am trying to think up some new zingers for Wartburg to help AZD out, but all the good stuff was used back in Simpson week.  So I might just have to ask who is smarter Central or those Wartburg Lutherans?  You see, Wartburg fans had a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for their tailgating practically right on Central's campus.  It was directly across from the football field parking.  They gave up this prime rub-it-in-your face spot to build a new church.  The college bought the old church, effectively ending the overly welcoming environment for the enemy to conspire.  Now, I'm sure they might still be welcome to use the new church parking lot for their gatherings, but the atmosphere might be a little less welcoming.  You see, those WB Lutherans built the church immediately down wind from a hog confinement and farm that spreads about as much manure as the WB fans.   ;)

I would also like to wish the best to all of the Central seniors who will most likely be playing their final home game this Saturday.  Go out with style, class and a crushing win!   ;D  I have enjoyed watching you for the past 4 years and know that you will be as successful off the field as you have been on the field.  I will be cheering you on loud and proud this weekend.  It's your first playoff game boys, win and you get a shot at the playoffs, lose and you turn in your pads.  Do what you have to do to keep the dream alive!  Play hard and play clean.

A Wartburg and a Central student ended up sitting next to each other on a plane. The Wartburg student decided to engage in a game of knowledge with the Central student.
The Central student implied that it was impossible for the Wartburg student to win and recommended a little wager.
The Wartburg student didn't appreciate the implication and said, "I'll give you $50 for every answer I get wrong and you'll only have to give me $5 for every answer you get wrong."
Central student replied, "You do realize that I'll have to get 10 answers wrong to your 1 in order for you to break even?"
The Wartburg student was hesitant, because he noticed that he didn't have to use his calculator to figure out the wager. He proceeded anyway.

The Wartburg student asked, "What is the distance between the earth and the moon?"
The Central gave it some thought, but could not come up with the answer. He held up his $5 and the Wartburg confidently snatched it from his hand.

The Central student asked, "What animal has four legs going up the hill, but when it comes down has three legs and changes its color?"
The Wartburg student was bound and determined to get this answer. He pulled out his laptop and started banging away at the keys, but had to come to the conclusion that he didn't know the answer. He handed over the $50.

The Wartburg student asked, "Well, what's the answer?"
The Central student gladly handed over another $5.....

Good one, AZD.  I needed the laugh!   ;)

A former Central football player was out walking his 3 legged Japanese Chin dog, Skippy, when he ran into a former Wartburg football player walking his black lab, Knight.  The two recognized each other from their glory days and the former Wartburg player laughed when he saw the small furry dog bouncing along on 3 legs.  "Man, what kind of wussy dog do you have there, should have known what to expect from a former Dutchman.  I have a man's dog here, this is Knight and he could have your dog for supper.  Sheesh!"

The former Central player just smiled and took it all in with the same class he showed on the field.  "Well, Knight may be a man's dog, but Skippy and I make a great team."  "Skippy?"  asked Knight's owner?  "What a joke, so pitiful to see what you've become."  They each walked off in opposite directions only to meet again just before reaching their respective homes.

Just as they met up, Skippy had to stop for a poop break.  The former Dutchman bent over to pick up the small pebbles of poop to which the former Knight laughed, "Your dog doesn't even poop like a man those look like little pepples, look at this pile Knight made."  And he held up a big bag filled with smelly brown evidence.  "You're right" said the Dutchman.  "For pepples, I walked a half hour and got 8 hot women's phone numbers.  But Knight won the pooping contest!"

Not exactly football related, but, UD to add womens lacrossse...http://www.dbq.edu/news/news1.cfm?ID=484

Anybody on here know of any other IIAC looking to add sports?  Lacrosse, bowling, whatever???

I guess I prefer having sports that are conference wide.  I'm all for Lacrosse, but I would like to see the conference add it instead of having a school be a member of the IIAC and then have 1 sport that is independent or the member of another conference for 1 sport only.

Lacrosse would be fun,at least in the mens form. Any sport where you can assault your opponent with a stick is OK by me.

I would think it would be fun in the womens form as well.  You know, it's good to have a woman that really knows how to handle a stick ;)

Ok, back to football, Go Spartans!  Let's end the season on a 2 game winning streak and get some momentum built heading into next season!!!

We should change the name of this board to "Double-Entendre Theater" ;D

I've never been to Pella to tailgate before. What's the etiquette there?
Passing up ISU/Nebbie tix and plan to see the team I'm chearing for win in Pella.
Its a huge weekend for football all over the state with HS football's trip to the UNI-Dome on the line, the IIAC Championship game, and the Bugeaters invading Ames.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Solo cups and soda bottles will be necessary for the more adult beverages. Be glad to see you there.

Not sure if this is true but I heard Lacrosse will be a conference sport in the not to distant future....I guess UD is just spear heading it........

Wear red, pour your beverages in cups, don't do anything serious enough to make the campus police notice you, cheer when the Dutch win, grab a pizza a George's on the square. Ah....sounds like a perfect day to me!

I second your thoughts! There would be no better way to end the season then with 2 wins.

I have to admit, I am disappointed by the season so far. The close losses  to Platteville, Coe, and Lorass about killed me. Losing Michael Zweifel and Wyatt Hanus for the season along with a host of other injuries have just been hard to handle. I realize such is life in football and given the injuries and youth in starters, I would consider a 4-6 or 5-5 record a success.

In fact, finishing 5-5 without Michael Zweifel and starting a freshman back up QB would be a HUGE success in my opinion. I suppose my thoughts would be if we can achieve the same record as last year without impact players such as those guys, next year really could be the year!

But, one season at a time and Luther is playing inspired football and that worries me....
The Spartans need to play aggressive football from start to finish.
