Fannosaurus Rex

I just about have everything in place for the pep rally I'm having in my back yard tonight.  The neighbors have been warned not to call the fire department when the bon fire gets blazing.  Now the tricky part is finding a Central College cheerleader suit for Mrs. Rex.  Tomorrow will be a very busy day.  It looks like the Dutch will kick off between the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf (breeding says Banned will hit the board and pay well) and the Sprint (hate to back a sheik but al Maktoum's Girolamo looks faster than Mike Furlong busting a punt return for the Dutch).  And then I have to finish everything off by taking all of my winnings and celebrating Central beating the Warts and winning at least a share of its 31st conference championship.  Whew!  I'm exhausted already.

Personally, I think that a Central win makes the IIAC look stronger.

There is no way I will root for Wartburg, if Coe wanted to go to the playoffs then we should have taken care of business.

I haven't had the stomach to post anything since the Wart loss.

Go Central

Go IIAC

Go Kohawks!

Let me get this straight. You would rather see Central win, even though it may hurt Coe's playoff chances, rather than Wartburg have the chance for 10-0 with an increased chance of Coe going to the playoffs?

Just askin'

I am pretty sure the young men playing for Coe this year would disagree.

Is it a moral victory for the conference to look stronger instead of it having two qualifiers?

How many times have two teams from the IIAC qualified for the playoffs when there was not an undefeated team?
Win or lose we still booze!!

Maybe...... he just wants to cheer for a winner. :)

Go Dutch!!

I care about the lesson we learn.

If they miss the playoffs they have no one to blame, but themselves.

I have to go with coocooforcoekohawk on this discussion regarding which team the Coe faithful should be pulling for tomorrow in the Wartburg/Central game.  I  suppose it boils down to whether you believe the conference championship or the NCAA playoffs are highest priority.

Taking a leap of faith that Coe beats BV and Cornell on the next two Saturdays and Wartburg beats Simpson in their last game of the season; the Kohawks are faced with being conference tri-champions and possibly being out in the cold for the playoffs if Central wins tomorrow or being second in the conference and having what some feel would be a better chance at playoffs if Wartburg wins tomorrow.  Being old fashioned, I guess I'd want to see my school's name on a conference championship trophy and let the chips fall where there may when it comes to the playoffs.  9-1 conference tri-champion looks better to me than 9-1 conference runnerup.

Nice article in the USA Today about the Central vs Wartburg game tomorrow.

I guess it depends if you want a conference chapionship with an asterisk or a playoff berth with an opportunity to advance like they did last year.

Ding Ding Ding!  We have a winner.

Let's see.  Be a Tri-Champion and know that you won't go to the playoffs or be the runner-up with a pretty good chance to go to the Playoffs?  I know what my choice would be.

Order of importance:

1. Not rooting for Wartburg

2. A playoff spot

3. Another shared IIAC championship

The only way we get a playoff spot for sure is Wartburg loses to Central and Simpson next week.

Go Central!

Mr. Ypsi

I apologize, since this has probably already been covered, but I forget.  IF Central wins tomorrow (and Coe, Wartburg, and Central all win next week), who gets the AQ?

Wartburg.  This is Central's last game.
