I like Wartburg and Coe's chances this weekend based on the "Party School Index."  A couple of years ago people on this board ranked Wartburg and Coe way above Central as party schools and we know how the Knights and Kohawks did against the Dutch this year.  From what I have heard, Central looks like New Orleans at Mardi Gras time next to Bethel and Wheaton.

I'll definitely take that as a compliment! I'd bet Wheaton does as well. ;D

The IIAC is not getting tons of love on the Triple Take. Although two out of three pick Wartburg to win. the MOV of both added together is only 4pts. Two out of three pick Wheaton over Coe.  I realize we're in a very evenly matched part of the bracket so I guess I shouldn't expect anything less. Here's to the IIAC taking care of business tomorrow.

Sounds like there will be a change in the tailgate location for Sat due to the DIII CC meet? When I get a chance, I will try to find out (unless someone has updated info already)

I haven't heard or been by the Regents park area but I'm thinking that area would be a zoo all AM til game time. I'd recommend going over by softball diamond. If plans fail for Mrs. Neumann's X-C friends to come over to the house, I'll look you up.

The word from NKD is that the tailgate has been moved to O lot directly across the street west of Walston-Hoover. There will not be a big tent as originally planned, but if you have any smaller pop-ups, please bring them. Parking will be at a premium, so come early and stay late!

I can't argue with any of those selections. Congratulations to all the all-conference players. You all have earned the honors and the Seniors on the list will be missed.

WCF Courier story on Wartburg- Bethel playoff game

Quoting Wartburg coach Rick Willis:

"I think anytime you are in the playoffs you have to raise your level of play. Everything becomes more full throttle - the speed which you have to play with, play in, play out, often times is noticeably different."

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

So with the news that Northwestern and Illinois will only run offensive plays in one direction tomorrow...

Does anyone have a story even somewhat sorta similar to this from a D3 game???

My freshman year at Wheaton College we had a JV game against Joliet Correctional.  Yes... no lie, no kidding!  A real version of the "Longest Yard", only it wasn't the guards against the inmates.

One of the endzones was only 6-7 yards deep as it was limited by the exterior wall to the prison.  Upon kicking an extra point after a TD, our kicker put it over the prison wall.  To which on of the inmates exclaimed "I'll get it".   ;D

Numerous stories I could tell about the game, but I don't want to blather on about it on your board.  Like the fact that several of the current coaches from Wheaton suited up for a couple of plays, including Coach Swider.

I have a complaint.  Too many of everybody elses All Conference guys will be back next year and not enough of Central's.

I never said that those were the players I would have chosen if it was up to me, I just can't argue with the ones that were. I'm happy that Willis is getting recognition for taking a team picked to finish third or fourth and running the table
