Well it is official, I will have two Knights in the family next year.  This one will be playing softball for the Knights.

The coach looked at me a little funny when I started talking about pre-game tailgating???

Double headers double the fun!  :D

Congrats on another IIAC child in your family.

As for tailgating, any time is a good time for tailgating...I've considered tailgating before my kids play the wii at our house ;D

Double D, that was laugh out loud funny. :) Awesome. +k for you! :)

I was under the impression that many of you already were tailgating before the X Box games.  ;D
I even thought you went as far as to pause the game at half time for bathroom breaks and getting in line for more beer.  :o

A nice capper to a good season yesterday in Waverly. The banquets are a great way to show how much the coaches really do care for their players. A special thanks to Coach Mugen for his heartfelt tribute to his senior players.
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Every year Coach Mugan gives a great talk.

Hope all of you senior parents come back next year for some tailgating.

Absolute genious, not only do you move your lines faster, therefore ensuring more money, but you are marketing your team with your logo at the bottom of the cup.

From the Wartburg web-site:  Wartburg College Director of Athletics Rick Willis announced Wednesday, Jan. 18, that Tiffany (Treanor) Pins is the school's new women's soccer head coach.

So, will dutchfan1 now become a Wartburg soccer fan?

I had two cousins that played football for the Knights and I did not become a Wartburg football fan.  ;)

With all these family members associated with Wartburg...I'm starting to think Dutchie is the black sheep of her family ;D

The rule, to my understanding (and I am not an NCAA compliance officer), is actually 33%, rounded up.

If you are correct, and I have no reason to dispute your statement and it is rounded up to 40% then him playing in 4 games or 40% of the schedule he would have played in one to many games correct?

I was under the impression he was already granted the medical redshirt and will be returning for the 2011 season so wondering why this is a topic anymore? Correct me if my impression was wrong, please.

We're not wondering if, just how.

You could probably call the IIAC or NCAA office for an explanation. Otherwise, I assume you have to trust that the powers to be in those offices did their research before making a decision.

From your past posts, you don't believe he is that good or a significant enough player to make a difference anyway so why even be worried about it  ???

I remember you saying at one point that if the wartburg QB threw the ball as often to any one of their WR's, they'd have the same production as M Zweifel and even alluded to them being just as good.

I could care less if one of your players is granted a medical redshirt. If he deserves it and fits within the guidelines of the IIAC or NCAA, then great for the athlete. Everyone should be happy, now we should be easier to defend next year  ;D

Willie,

You are running off the deep end again.  I only want to know how he qualified?  If he did (and I am not saying he didn't or doesn't deserve to have another year) how the rules are or what the rules were that he was granted that year.  I don't have a grudge against the young man or UD.  I only wanted to learn and become more informed.  You need not look deeper than that.  I did not imply any wrong doing or sinister plots going on here.  I just wanted to know the rules for my own knowledge.

If it's 33% and you round up to 40%...then playing in 4 games puts you right at 40% and not over...making you eligible for a redshirt.  I would guess...since he apparently has had it granted already.

Rounding would make it easier.  If it was a hard 33% then I suppose you would have to look if he went out injured in the 1st quarter...or 1st 5 minutes of the 2nd quarter or whatever.  You round up to 40%...then a kid could play in 4 games and not anymore than that.  Or am I just not looking at this correctly?  40% and playing in 4 games doesn't make me see some conspiracy theory here.  It makes me see a kid played in 40%.

Now why don't more schools have their schedules posted >:(

Even if they don't have their non-con portion finalized yet, the conference part of the schedule must have been completed.  Post that part already!!!
