Wartburg looking for new assistant coach.

Reed Hoskins has accepted a position as offensive coordinator at University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Maybe a good indicator that Willis will be around for a while. I though that if Willis stepped down for whatever reason that Wheeler would get the HC while Hoskins would get the OC. Hoskins evidently didn't want to wait.

But...but...but that would give us 1 less topic to give Wartburg crap about :o

Anything we can do to cheese off the rest of the conference.  ;)

Keep doing what you're doing, then -- it's working! ;)

It is one thing to lose Reed as an assistant coach, but it is another to lose your recruiting coordinator.  Add to the fact his wife is also a recruiter in SE Iowa.  The Knights have a bit of a tradition of having football coach husbands and recruiter wives.  It has made for some good team work.  Hopefully both positions will get filled with good people fairly quickly.

Interesting...that will add to the NCAA's investigations of Wartburg illegally offering financial aid to athletes.......that makes sense now. Coach recruiting football players and Coaches wife working in Admissions and assisting the students with admission and financial aid! Wifey gets a new purse and Coachey gets a few thousand extra dollars in his star recruits financial aid package!!!

On a side note..watched the D3 football movie trailer for the first time this morning.

A little profane  ??? And to be honest, I have never been impressed with Andy Dick.

Anyway, I see nothing wrong with making a comedy about D3 football. I think in general, if done properly, could be very funny.

But, I really can't wait for a more inspirational movie about D3 football or a particular D3 player. But, I suppose we'll have to watch the other one first.

Speaking of Movies and thinking outloud about plot lines that would be worthy of DIII football. We could remake Rudy, starring Sean Astin as KnightSlayer 101.  Rudy dumps Norte Dame goes to Central where he becomes the Bill Romanowski of the IIAC.

Speaking of Dutch Dominator and his alter ego KnightSlayer 101 can he/ they  ever be reinstated we will need them  as technical advisors for the movie.

I read about this movie trailer. I just can't seem to find where it's located?

If you recall, at the Central vs. Coe game last fall a Central spectator was beaten by a man living across the street from the Coe football field.  This same Cedar Rapids man has now been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a Cedar Rapids taxi driver.  Here is the link to the article in the Cedar Rapids Gazette.

Early reports indicate Wartburg will welcome alum Patrick Toohey back to Waverly as the new OL coach, while current OL coach and OC Matt Wheeler will remain OC and take over the QB/WR coaching duties from Reed Hoskins who left for UW-L.  While no official announcements have been made I'd like to say welcome back Coach Toohey.

Having Coach Toohey back would be a great addition to the Wartburg staff.  He has a good football mind and he knows how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  Hopefully they would turn the big Irishman loose recruiting SE Iowa.
