Hmm, I vote that we let the Chameleons Bleu Cheeseburger basket go with Cornell to the MWC...but we get to keep Purple Heys in the IIAC!!!

It's all relative I guess.  The MWC seems to be the better fit for Cornell...I don't see that as an indictment of the Cornell Administration...it's their choice to freely make.

Warthog's comments about smoke and mirrors is a bit of cheap shot...I daresay the Rams are to the Kaniggets as the Kaniggets are to MUC and UW-W.  We're obviously not competing at that level and you're obviously not competing at that level.  Who really cares about that and is it necessary to beat us over the head with it?

OK, I'll admit it was a cheap shot.   :-*

Warthog, you should know that there is nothing cheap about Wartburg.  ;D

OK, one more cheap shot:

Concerning PH's shot across the bow about the Knights and UW-W.  He's right, we don't measure up to UW-W at this time. After all the Knights lost to UW-W 34-17 in the 2008 playoffs.  Incidently, Wartburg also beat UW-SP that same season in the first round of the playoffs.

Interestingly enough that gives the Knights the same number of wins (1) in the WIAC as Cornell has had in the IIAC over the past five seasons.

Wartburg's WIAC record since 2006........... 1-1
Cornell's IIAC record since 2006................ 1-39

Nice try... ;)

I believe the comparison was a bit more specific, i.e, to MUC and UW-W...so let's not reach just to try to make the Kaniggets look good.

Following that, in the past 5 seasons Wartburg, by virtue of its 34-17 loss, is 0-1 versus MUC and/or UW-W...or said another way, Wartburg has the same number of wins vs. MUC or Wartburg as a team full of dead people.    Whereas Cornell, by virtue of its lone conference win vs. Loras  in '09, has 1 more win than that same team full of dead people in the same period.  8-)

I'd have to say then, in game of Cornell vs. a team full of dead people...I like the Ram's chances.   ;D

I'd like to respond to PH's last post, but I'm not sure what he was writing about.

If it has to do with UW Whitewater and Mount Union being the top dogs in D3 football, I agree with him.  That seems to be a fairly obvious point.

Except the cost for student-athletes to attend!  ;D

I think if I can follow my own Sierra Nevada-induced haze, Wartburg is marginally better than a team full of dead people...but that doesn't give their fans the right to pick on Cornell.  :D

So what you're saying is that a team of dead people would have went 9-1 in conference last year? ???

So.....if/when Cornell moves back to the MWC, will they keep the "Oldest Rivalry West of the Mississippi" going with Coe?
A pessimist is a man who feels that all women are bad. An optimist hopes so.

It doesn't sound like they're trying to end that any time soon.

I wouldn't see any value in the Coe Kohawks giving up a sure victory every season.  ;)
