I think now would be a great time to have my first in season post. Been really busy the last couple of months or so but finally got a hold of some down time. Unfortunately I had to work this morning so I missed my first Central game this season. Honestly, it sounds like they are better off without me in the stands. What a showing so far today! I have been tracking the stats and audio and they showed up to play! Quality opponent or not, 42 points in one half is unreal. i was a part of some pretty potent/high scoring offenses at Central but we never scored 42 in a half! AWESOME! I think this Dutch team is really starting to hit it's stride, they had a little bump against BV last week but the Defense played great in the second half.  If they can continue to put it together week by week, by the end of the year this team could be dangerous. Lot's to work on from the games I have seen but they have the ability to win the conference. Hope the train keeps rolling in the second half!

How long has Wartburg had a marching band and is that the only one in the conference?  Now I have marching band envy.

Congratulations to the Dutch for putting it all together today.  Loras is probably better than they looked today, they just had the misfortune of playing the Dutch after they embarrassed themselves last week.  Nate Snead had all conference player of the week stats today.  Now, if the Dutch can just stay at this level of play for the rest of the season.  It's good to see Central will have some great players to step into the graduating players open spots next year.  Nice to see local Pella player, Blaine F. get some playing time this afternoon.  I think today shows how the Dutch felt about the way they played last week.  Much improved today and I'm not sure how different the calibre of the competition really was.  Way to step up Dutch, now just KEEP IT GOING.

Awesome to see everyone playing hard through the entire game. I had trouble seeing the numbers on the jerseys this game and the audio was hard to hear, so I'll just stick with everyone did great!

Look out everyone...Central's going to win out the season and take home the championship! ShowMe the trophy!  ::)

Surprised at the Simpson win over Knights.  Thought the Knights had a championship this year but it looks like they are out of it until 2012.  Great stats for Simpson.  Looks like they are a much improved team with each game.

Cornell did well though Zweifel seems to have buried them with 4 TD's

Of course Central did it's thing to Cornell......who WILL win a game this year in the IIAC !!!

Luther/BV....a struggle between two mediocre teams.  Cornell are you watching?

I wouldn't count Wartburg out. There's still a lot of season to go.

With the upset in Waverly, UD now controls its own destiny in the IIAC.  Going head-to-head with Central, the Spartans have the edge.  But they also have 3 tough weeks coming up.  A long road trip to Storm Lake ... then a game against Luther and the Norse always make me nervous ... and then the UD Conference finale in Cedar Rapids against a very capable Kohawk team.  Its going to be a long wait until mid-November.

GO SPARTANS!

Central squeaks by Loras, surprising
Thanks for sharing your koolaid with me last week.  This week things looked much better, can I have some more for the last 3 games of the regular season?  Still not sure which team will show up in the last few weeks.

+k to you!

When Cornell's announcer gave the final score from the Simpson game, the Dubuque fans cheered lounder than they did the whole game.
