I didn't see any talk about Briar Cliff, Dordt, Morningside, or Northwestern thinking about any moves to D3.  Briar Clif and Dordt maybe would think of moving.  The Morningside and Northwestern fanbases would go into meltdown mode if their schools talked about D3.

Well, they better go into meltdown mode, because DIII is being discussed at the very highest levels at both institutions. Both internally and with one another. Doesn't mean it will happen, but it is being discussed in earnest right now.

I would love to see that!!!

And there was a poster on there that is a Northwestern fan who said he had a friend that went to Bethel and he knew Northwestern could roll Bethel by 3 scores at least.  Do you know that guy???

::) A poster on where?

There are two players on Bethel's team from Hospers, Iowa that would have connections with NWC. My guess is whoever is spouting off at the mouth has never once seen Bethel play. But I'd be more than willing to take him up on that bet  8-)

Dubuque has a solid football team and could make a lot of noise in the playoffs.  Here is to UD and WB running the table the rest of the year!  ;D
This is the statement I was thinking of in my earlier post.  It isn't quite saying they would be the final two standing, but I wasn't completely off base either.

Listened to the Central Coaches' Corner tonight and liked what Mac had to say about what is the Central standard of football and trying to get the team to play up to that standard regardless of who the opponent is.  If they do that, they can be very successful.  Also interesting to hear that they had players playing other positions just to make sure all the starters got out of the game Saturday.

Congratulations to the Dutch for putting it all together today.  Loras is probably better than they looked today, they just had the misfortune of playing the Dutch after they embarrassed themselves last week.  Nate Snead had all conference player of the week stats today.  Now, if the Dutch can just stay at this level of play for the rest of the season.  It's good to see Central will have some great players to step into the graduating players open spots next year.  Nice to see local Pella player, Blaine F. get some playing time this afternoon.  I think today shows how the Dutch felt about the way they played last week.  Much improved today and I'm not sure how different the calibre of the competition really was.  Way to step up Dutch, now just KEEP IT GOING.

I wonder when the last time Loras was beat by 63 or more?

10/15/11  :)

I'm pretty sure I heard it was the worst defeat in school history.

That sounds more like a toast to me.  NKD just getting back from the game and saying he saw two good teams on the field that night.  Here's to meeting again in the playoffs later.

When I went back and looked at pages 2359 - 2370 there was lots of talk about keeping focus on Simpson the next week.  There was even a post or two about thinking Central would be hard to beat the rest of the year and was looking at another conference championship.

It's always fun to speculate...this is a message board after all.

Something like..."I wonder if there will be any Central posters left on here after UD wins their 10th straight conference title in 2020  ;D ;D ;D

Take a look at the Victory Sports Network site.  I love all levels of college football, but NAIA fans have a boulder instead of a chip on their shoulder because they feel slighted that NCAA fans don't usually even know what the NAIA is.  You talk to their fan bases and you'd think the average NAIA school could beat the Green Bay Packers.

I figured it was at Victory, I thought you maybe knew the exact thread to look under. That board is just so stinking convoluted it's almost impossible to figure out where a comment like that would get made (ya know, there are only about 300 sub-GPAC threads to look into!). But yeah, the chip is pretty significant. You don't have to stir the hornets nest over there as much as just breathe on it  :D

I do think both NWC and Morningside have quality teams that could definitely compete. But I also think the average NWC fan has next to zero knowledge about Bethel, so to predict a 3 score victory or just a win period is just humorous to me.

One thing to keep in mind is that Morningside actually has a much longer history with the NCAA than they do with the NAIA. I think that is part of the conversation. They've realized over the last decade just how different the two organizations are and now wonder if it wouldn't be better back with the mother ship. The trick is convincing their fans that D3 isn't a step down. (I realize that sounds silly on here) But they already went from DII to NAIA. The loss of 'scholarship prestige' is a big one for them. I think the administration sees the benefits, the knowledgable fans get the difference, but some people just love saying their program gives scholarships. It'll be an interesting debate for sure...

Must have been DDog then because it certainly wasn't me. I have never discussed anything but the game at hand each week. The only thing I recall is a wartburg poster talking a couple times about the Knights going 10-0..... :o

Hmm, I don't think that was me.  I'm superstitious and have been scared to talk about UD and the future (though I'm happy to talk about anything and everything else).  I suppose it could have been.  I have been known to post on here after I have consumed a few drinks...I'll scroll back a few pages and look around.

I knew it wasn't you...just making a point that none of the Spartan Nation have made any comments with regards to predicting the future. I would call our support "humble confidence".

Here is hoping for a great game for all of the Central seniors playing what is probably their last game in their red shirts.  I hope they all get lots of pictures because it is a great look.

So are you hoping for a great game or predicting a sure victory??   :-\

It can be confusing.  (sarcasm)  ;D
Win or lose we still booze!!

I won't make a prediction.  This week's game against Cornell looks too much like a "trap game" to me.  The Dutch are coming off a big win that could make them feel invincible and the next week's game, not that anyone looks ahead or anything, is the always anticipated trip to Waverly.  It looks like Cornell's strength plays to Central's weakness.  The Central secondary has had some lapses this season and Cornell's qb is hitting 67.9% of his passes.  Classic makings of a "trap game."
