So much nonsense about Zwiefel and Durnan and the hire at Luther.  None of you were there (including Floyd and Willie) for the interviews.  Poor intel abounds.

That is in the past.  Bury it !  UD has a good coach and Mike should be an assistant and do well.  Norse have a new team of coaches.  Let it go.

Yeah, let's talk about if Coach Kac left Central to pursue other opportunities or was canned  ;D

I kid, I kid.

I am very anxious for these games tomorrow.  They should go a long ways towards determining how the rest of the season will play out.

I hope to see Central come out with a little of the enthusiasm they had after finally coming out on the right side of a close game last week.  They need to get a lot more fired up and come out strong and stay that way.  They also have to be much sharper on third and long, we blow those downs way to often for what has mostly been a real solid defense.  The offense has to get out fast and strong.  Lots of wishes for what I want to see.  But we have to step it up if we want to keep our "average" status going.   ::)

From what I was told by the former player I know was that the players vote went to Durnin not Zwiefel.

The players after meeting both candidates decided on Durnin and that was the way the school decided to go.

I think Dubuque has one heck of a coach and Luther might be on to something now as well.  So maybe it will work out for both in the end.

In what world should players be the deciding factor on who a school hires as a head coach  ??? If, IF, I even have the players participate in the interviewing of a candidate, I take their input and weigh it about 5% against the wisdom of the administration and AD. I'm sorry, a 21 yo kid has NO idea who or what a school should be looking for in a head coach.

Dubuque leads Wartburg 2-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.

I think this a point that is getting lost. What kind of administration allows players who will be there for a max of 4 years any input?

Wartburg leads Dubuque 7-2 at the half.

A lot like the 2011 game.  Dubuque drives down the field and then screws up around the Wartburg 20 and comes away with no points.  Wartburg didn't do much of anything all half and then blocks a punt and drives 50 yards for a TD with about 1 minute left in the half.  7-2 is the score.

Wartburg leads Dubuque 7-2 at the half.
Central leads Luther 15-6 at the half.
Coe and Simpson tied at 14 at the half.

2nd half begins like the 1st half.  Dubuque forces a Wartburg punt.  Dubuque drives and has a 1st down on the Wartburg 15 then on 3rd down on about the 30 UD throws an INT.

Unlike the 1st half...Dubuque forces another Wartburg punt and drives the field for a TD.  2 point conversion fails.  Dubuque leads Wartburg 8-7 in the 3rd quarter.

Wartburg has 77 yards total offense so far.

Wartburg drives the field and answers with a TD and a 2 point conversion.  Wartburg leads 15-8 in the 3rd quarter.  I would say 90% of the Wartburg offense has come on their 2 scoring drives.

End of the 3rd quarter Wartburg leads Dubuque 15-8.

Coe and Simpson tied 21-21 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

Central leads Luther 22-12 end of the 3rd quarter.

What in years passed has been a central strength, the kicking game, is now a major weakness. The odd thing is, it's been the same kicker who is now in his 3rd year in the program. Talk about losing the mental edge.

Same result as two years ago for Homecoming.  Knights win ... and the Spartan nation goes home in frustration.

Wartburg wins 22-15 over Dubuque.  Strange game.  Wartburg got 90% of their offense on their 3 scoring drives.  Wartburg D looked very strong.  Dubuque D looked very strong.

Central beats Luther 22-12

BVU beats Loras 34-0  Is  Mierkiewicz on the hot seat?  I know he's only in his 3rd season, but geez.

Coe and Simpson head to OT tied 28-28

Coe and Simpson head to 2OT tied 35-35

Simpson wins in 2OT 41-38  Coe kicked a FG and Simpson scored on a 23 yard TD pass on 3rd and 8.
