I was all excited way back when I first saw the schedule and thought that Central would be playing Coe at home in the last game of the season for the conference championship.  I probably would have made the trip especially since it looks like the weather will be mild.  Funny how things work out.  It should still be a pretty good game between two teams trying to save disappointing seasons.  If Central can avoid dumb penalties and screw ups trying to get the ball from the center to the qb and then on to a running back I think they have a good shot at coming out on top and starting the next streak of winning seasons.  Go Dutch!

And on another note, I predict Wartburg gets sent to Texas as a kind of balance for MHB's trip to Iowa a couple of years ago.

Not so fast......I predict the Duhawks have nothing to lose so they pull every trick play in the book---onsides, flea flickers, fake punts, you name it. I think they have realized playing standard offense, defense and special teams isn't working and totally catch the knights off guard and pull off an upset which results in a multiple team tie for 1st in the IIAC  ;D Playoff team and match up TBD

I was right with ya on the excitement level for this years two season enders.  Really had high hopes for the Dutch to be in the hunt.  Hats off to Coach DeWards 3-4 setting atop the conference scoring defense and within .1 YPG for total defense even though facing 60 more plays from our opponents on the season.

Instead of attending the conference title game in Pella, I'm heading to the dome for some prep FB.  I'm thinking we could see the Regina win streak end at the hands of the NFV, then Van Meter  can knock of St. Eds.

Go Dutch! Good luck to all you seniors, have a good one and be proud to be the Dutch!

Wartburg's numbers seem somewhat dismal for the conference champions, but I assume the Knights will move up a few spots after this weekend's game at Loras.  8-)

59-3
Yes, I guess they will move up a little.

Great win for the Dutch. Their defense was phenomenal shutting out the Coe offense (pick 6 for the lone score).

Sadly, this season will haunt the kids and coaches. They wasted one of the best defenses the Dutch have had in many seasons. Even with an average offense they're looking at a conference title and a with a good offense... Who knows.

I agree, today was a fantastic win for the Dutch and it really is sad to see the season come to a close as the defense has really hit its stride.  Even last week, the two WB touchdowns came after turnovers putting the defense in a tough position.  The defense really looked spectacular today and though we were fairly one dimensional on offense, that one dimension, Josh, had a huge day.  Very nice way for 21 seniors to end their career since the playoffs were off the table.  I have really enjoyed watching this team and I wish all the best to the graduating seniors from all the schools.

While BV had a respectable year given their schedule, lets pump the brakes on that prediction a bit.

I think there is a rule somewhere that the BVU or Simpson coach gets COY whenever Wartburg wins the conference but doesn't go undefeated  ;D

The Knights have a tough match-up in the first round.  On the road against Illinois Wesleyan is no easy task.  It will take a little IIAC magic to pull it off.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

I'm honestly surprised by the match-up. I would've guessed the IIAC champ would've had a much tougher match up.

Kohawks have wins over two playoff teams.

Hang your hat on that.
