Congratulations to Wartburg Football Coach, Rick Willis, and his sister, Barb, who were elected to be two of first members of the Comanche High School's Hall of Fame.

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Since it is a slow time for DIII football.  Wartburg gets mentioned in Iowa Football recruiting.

Not in a good way but don't they say any press is good press?  ::)

IDK what's so bad about it, everything it said is true. Iowa should be fighting with Ohio State for top tier recruits, not Wartburg (or Central or Coe or Dubuque). If they are then they're in trouble.

I suppose you could argue it's a compliment to Wartburg that they are the D3 school the writer thought about when writing the sentence.  BUT...did he really need to write that?  I don't think so.

According to UD facebook page...41 days until spring practice.  There, I finally found some IIAC news.

Congrats spurrier, nice to see your son staying in the game.

28 days until UD spring ball starts.

Anyone with info for when the other schools have their spring practice?

Wartburg waits until after May Term classes begin (4/28) So probably after 5/1.  Will post when I know exact dates.

I am sure he will meet former UD Asst Mens Soccer Coach Mark Batman that is currently ONU's head soccer coach. Coach Batman likes to get his pump on in the weight room also.

I'm planning on doing some social media study to see how the IIAC schools approach that area.  Facebook, youtube, twitter, others that I will have to ask my kids about  ;)

Facebook 'football specific' pages...

Dubuque - 1,000 likes ...typically around 1 post per day
Luther - 868 likes ...typically 1 or 2 posts per week
Simpson - 774 likes ...looks like 1 post per week through Dec. then 1 per month since
Loras - 661 likes ...regular posts through Sept.  then nothing until Dec. with 1 per week, then nothing
BVU - 563 likes ...typically around 1 per week
Central - 333 likes ...regular posts during the football season...nothing much since
Wartburg - 258 likes (has not been updated since 2011)
Coe - no football specific page

If anyone out there knows info about how IIAC schools approach social media, please chime in.

Same for me.  I was approaching it from a school stand point.  How each school utilizes social media to promote their football program.
