In terms of pure hatred, I think the Loras-UD rivalry is tops in IIAC and top 5 in Iowa..I could tell you stories of being spit on at the Loras barn..uh, the Loras Gym..not to mention fights, the chants (anyoen remember when Dante Richards played for UD, after he was arrested..those chants were priceless

Walston Hoover

That's about the lowest thing I've heard, insulting a guy's wife and I assume doesn't even know the guy. I hope you were drunk when you posted that just so you have an excuse for your stupidity.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Spartan..Stang79

Bottom dwellers huh how many conference championships has Lor ass won... a big fat zero UD was a powerhouse back in the day and i believe that they will return there someday under Coach B and the gang.Good luck SPARTANS and shut Sheridan down and shut everyone up and make a statement for yourselves and the rest of the UD faithful.

Hope for the best Stang...Good luck to all

Picks for Week 3

Central over Coe (home-field wins this one)
BV over Loras
Luther over UD
Simpson over Wartburg

Stang, you may have picked a bad week to try and "shut everyone up."  UD is in for a battle this weekend.

How are things in the land of the IIAC?

From what i have everybody has thier panties in a bussel.
I assume that most everyone on this board went to IIAc college, and we can tell where, just from the bias in everyone's post.  But here's the deal,  We all have an emotion attachment to the schools we have attened (high school, college, grad school, even where you live now) and its ok to think your school is better than another.  Thus is the reason we chose to attend a certian school.  Enough about that crap, just giving my two cents worth.

My predictions

Coe over Central -- coe has a few more offensive weapons
Wartburg over Simpson -- The 'burg is still the team to beat
Loras over BV -- close game could go either way, too many new defensive faces
Luther over UD -- ud has a tougher d than most realize, but luther pulls out a win

In my last post I said the Coe Central game would be a coin flip.  All though I would like the Dutch to win, common sense tells me the Kohawks will win.  Central can not keep winning games when the opposition triples them in first downs and doubles them in yards.  I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid I'm right.

wow, what a week to not say much.  I as a former Duhawk can say that I do respect every team I have faced.  That includes UD.  One thing that I can say in a totally neutral way is that when you live in the past with what has happened here and there, all people do is turn the other way and ignore much of what you say.  Those teams in the late 70's and early 80's were great for UD, a little dirty, but they did play together and that is what makes up a champion.  Now if you really look at each year with each team you can tell who will be a champion and who wont be.  With my own bias in tact Loras has every bit as much talent then the better teams in the conference, but at times lose focus and find themselves in the losing end.  When Upper Iowa was in everyone knew that team had allot of talent, but they never played together, they would yell at each other while they would play and want to fight eachother for God's sakes.  My point is that with each team every year it seems easy to pick Central, WB, and now Coe because they have somehow solved the puzzle when it comes to team chemistry and doing what the coaches ask of them.  Until that is solved for other teams it will continue to be those teams that stay on top.   Now I was a player in the iiac and if it was one thing that i look back on is questioning the chemistry of the teams i was on.  We were all a tight group from what i saw, but we could have been tighter, I think.  I believe many of us could say that(exept dutchfan, she was spreading cheer, :P).
Ok Ok ok lets just take this one foot at a time.....

I thouroughly support everyons opinion on these posts, except for when it is a specific shot about a player or players, especially if they have never seen them play.   By the way my knowledege about the iiac is firsthand, i dont know of any knoweledge thats better.  every week in the iiac is a battle from top to bottom,no matter what team your on.  ud has had some struggles on offense, for other teams its their defense, or whatever the case may be.  i would just appreciate some responses that were backed up by some actual intellect.  and whoever says that history and the past doesnt matter doesn't have to much of a past to take pride in.  I always respected loras when i played them, and loved the rivalry we had.  i would have been great to beat them, but we never figured it out, but guys there will be a day when ud beats loras,  when cornell beats wartburg and so on.  Who knows maybe this years will be those days.
Good luck to all the iiac athletes.

Unless you are a player or a coach I would doubt your knowledge is better than everyone on this board.
Most people cheer for the underdogs, but with you and some of the other guys that have started posting, it makes it tough to cheer for UD. I'll stick by spurrier, I enjoy his insight every now and then. He doesn't see the world through blue tinted glasses like most of you.

Everyone - Since the temps are starting to cool down even in Arkansas, last night before I went to sleep, I turned off my A/C.  Well, it must have tripped something inside my thermostat (this has happened before) where it starts working "really well."  It jacked the A/C way up on high.

It's now 56 degrees in my apt.   :o

So, while I'm waiting for the guy to come fix it, I just thought I'd take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the picks.  I, for one, am glad that we have all this new blood on the board, even if some people are bigger "experts" than others.  Keep the posts coming.  Looking forward to seeing how the IIAC race shapes out.

Go Knights!!

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I only slept for five hours last night,  who else is excited about opening day in the IIAC.  I hope more than fourteen chat roomers are going to the contests today.  As for the two of you going to watch the Rams scrimmage, c'mon.

Lance, just kidding about the karma thing.  The more the merrier in the chat room.  I am so glad there is a place to read and talk about DIII football

GO KOHAWKS!
