Any Coe faithful on the board or did you all go into hiding after to sub-par season?
I've heard some things..........

Being in the IIAC itself is not putting our teams at a disadvantage for winning in the post-season -- it can be done. IIAC teams need to make a conscious effort to schedule more competitive non-conference games in our schedule to prepare our teams to play/win at a more competitive level. Scheduling MIAC/WIAC/NWC teams would benefit us more in the long run. The Stagg Bowl currently seems out of reach, but it is attainable with the right preparation.

Walston,

don't keep us guessing.  What is going on in Coe land?  What have you been hearing?

It's true, Walston. The soccer coach resigned.

Just how a certain coach who's last name rhyme's with my wife's favorite apple may be putting his name out there (and applying for) some other open jobs.

Thank you for the info...always fun to get this time of year when not much is going on...football wise that is.  So looking at the Coe website it mentions a certain coach is the dean of IIAC coaches.  Don't tell me that would make UD's Brautigam the dean of IIAC football coaches then if he left.  He's only been in Dubuque, 6 seaons, going on 7.

WH - What rhymes with I-pod ???

On another matter since Bowlsby has hired Harbaugh @ Stanford, what's the feeling about Danny Mac @ Air Force? I beleive it would be perfect for him.
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Technically, yes. But Osterberger has been head coach in the league for 2007 going to be his 8th year I believe. Not sure how that counts in the "Dean of coaches" circles.
Current year of coaching (from memory)All these should have ? marks after them so feel free to correct me. Previous coaches are not for sure either.
Koehler 1 (Willis, 8)
Anderson1 (Osty 6)
Dillon 1 (Reasland 4-5?) I think the guy before him was there quite a while
McMartin 3 (Kac 6)
Hefty 5 (Pole ?)
Niemann 5 (Williams 12?)
Brautigham 6 (?)
Osty 8 (That one guy for a year and Bierie for countless ones before that)
Raeburn 8 (Who was thay psycho that coached there before him)
Probably comparable tenures to other conferences. Probably close to same years as head coach of their particular school as if you took the top 8 in Big 12 or 10 (minus JoePa of course) I think the big 10 had 3 first year coaches this year (NW, UW, and Illinois) and Hoepner was in his 2nd year at Indiana. That's the nature of the beast in college football.

I thought Mac did a heck of a job reviving the ISU program but I'm not sure he would be a good fit at Air Force.  In order to be good at at one of the academies you need to have a different style offense (option, 5 wide), or at least that is what has worked in the past.  I guess Mac was more of a defensive coach so it would probably hinge more on his OC, but I just don't think it would be a good fit for him.  I was surprised Stanford didn't take a closer look at him.
THIS IS...OUR HOUSE!  WHOSE HOUSE?!...OUR HOUSE!  WE RULE....OUR HOUSE!!
