So they re-ranked the conferences and the ARC slipped from a preseason ranking of 11 to 14.  Now I realize I haven't been around as much the past couple of years, but when the back did we slide all the way to 11th?  Now we are the 14th ranked conference?  I guess that means Central needs to run the table to get ranked by the end of the season.  Then we need to keep Pat from attending any of our games as he tends to only attend games we lose.    :o  Finally we need to make a deep playoff run.  Good thing is we don't need to worry about those last two until the regular season ends. So in keeping with playing the tough competition at the end of the season we better just play a statement game on Saturday.

I've been to two Central games, I believe. I don't consider that to be a representative sample. :)

Last IIAARC game I was at, the conference's representative won.

I'll spare the smite and just give you a heavy eye roll. 🙄
I really welcome you to attend Pat. I just wish we would be more impressive when you do.

Yesterday I decided to get our yard mowed before this whole week worth of rain is supposed to hit.  But...I left about a 30ft by 50ft area behind my office uncut just in case UD needed my lucky mower to get them over the hump against the Norse on Saturday  ;)
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

Whew!  You had me worried there for a sec, I almost lost it after I read the first sentence.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

I don't think you will need it. I think UD is much better than Luther this year.  Of course that is only based on how both of you played against Central.  UD has a better offense and defense. I hate to see Luther down as much as they are this year.

Central up 14 to 9 at the half. Simpson 3 to 0 over Coe at the half. Defense seems to be the name of the game.

Old Dutch

Dutch win 35-29.  Not a pretty game, Prairie Wolves playing with passion, maybe not so much for the Dutch!  Too close!

Congratulations to all of today's winners. I can't say any of the outcomes surprised me too much. I wish Central would have won more decisively. Then again, it doesn't completely surprise me either.

Looking on paper you see undefeated Central playing NWU who has no conference wins. Should be easy. On paper. NWU has not played any of the teams Central has played. Central has not played any of the teams NWU has played. Their season is about to get easier. Central's is about to get a whole lot harder. They did play well today. Hawkins was intercepted twice today, but they were playing our receivers much closer than most teams we have played. Still their announcers were shocked with Hawkins accuracy. They were commenting on it the second half. They also said comparatively that Wartburg was head and shoulders better than Central. The next few weeks will be interesting.

Big game next week and a rivalry at that. Simpson always plays us with passion. Central is young and the schedule has given us time to gain experience. Will it be enough?  I am confident in the offense.  The defense has me a little nervous, not sure on the status of the injured starters.

And a 17 point 4th quarter lead.  But those things happen when you have a small roster (low 60's) and over 30 freshmen on that small roster.  The trick now will be for the BV coaching staff get the players to buy in and stick around for 4 years.  There is some talent in Storm Lake, they just need to mature.
