10 Saturdays until IIAC...I mean ARC football  ;)
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

It is...though I don't remember getting a confirmation email from presto sports.

A bit tardy but a hearty congratulations to Pat and all the staff on the 20th anniversary of D3football.  You are a godsend for D3 junkies, providing current and informative news from all across the D3 landscape.  Back in the 70s, we were living in Connecticut and late on Saturday night, if the atmospherics were aligned, I was able to pick up WHO radio from Des Moines and catch IIAC football scores from that day's action.  Those were lean years for Spartan fans until Don Birminham came on the scene in 1975 and UD made D3 playoffs two years in a row.  Anyway, thanks again Pat and staff. ;)

I "second the motion" of DBQ1965...  Congratulations Pat and all at D3!

Here in Iowa, the newspapers do a lousy job of covering D3 sports.  If someone in Iowa City or Ames gets jock itch the newspapers are on site ready to report the results.  Drake doesn't even get much coverage from the DSM Register.  The Register has had a lot of Wartburg alumni on the staff over the years, and that doesn't make any difference, either.  So, Coleman, et. al. to the rescue!

Outside the Crate

I just received a brochure from Wartburg describing a $ 3.2 M addition to "the W."  It will create a new Strength and Conditioning Center, and a new exercise science department will occupy the space formerly occupied for athletes' conditioning.  They tout that Wartburg will be the first D3 college to utilize the EliteForm motion-capture system thoughout the entire weight room and all 17 stations.  They say the technology is more commonly used by professional sports teams and D1 programs.  It can help manage each athlete's individual workout.  The competition keeps heating up.

From the picture it looks like there will be an addition to the current "W" building on the east side...currently that side of the facility has the Canfield Memorial Weightroom on the top floor and the wrestling room on the bottom floor.  I would guess that they are just going to replace the weightroom and leave the wrestling room untouched, but I haven't seen any plans other than the public drawing in the article.

Hmmm.... wonder if the ARC presidents are considering kicking WB out of the conference over this.

(I really find the actions of the MIAC puzzling...  education doesn't always infer common sense I guess.  )

The new weight room will be built on the south side, with two levels.  The current weight room will be converted to classrooms, labs and offices for the exercise science program.

Thanks for the info, I thought the east side would be a little too small of an area for the addition...there is plenty of space on the south side.  Should be a nice addition to the Athletic Department!
