20 days until the 2021 season kicks off.
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

Wartburg's updated roster stands at 153:

     58 first-years
     38 sophomores
     23 juniors
     34 seniors

Wartburg has always been particularly strong in recruiting in Iowa (hey, you get Iowa Tuition Grants) and that's still true:
     123 Iowa
       20 Illinois
         5 Minnesota
         3 Missouri
         1 Texas
         1 Hawaii

I am looking forward to an exciting season in Region 5.  Nah. It will always be The West to me.

I always like to see new names on the schedule.  I am excited to see how Central can do against the St Olaf Olies and the Kalamazoo Hornets.

Dubuque starts their season with two new coordinators.  I'm anxious to see how that plays out.  Marietta and La Crosse looks like a solid non-con portion of the schedule.  I like the 1st two weeks because I can actually cheer for all the ARC teams at that point in the season  ;D

Coe also hosts Hope in week 2.  That should be a good match up.

Former UD db Michael Joseph was waived from injured reserve by the Chicago Bears this past week.  Apparently, a broken thumb severely hampered his practice time in camp.

They're back!!! I didn't check all grade levels of players on the roster, but there are 15 5th year players on the Central team who will not be denied an expectedly good final season. You may recall a few of them. Every team has two years of freshmen waiting to make their real mark on their respective teams. So the teams will have lots of options for changing things up with surprising new players. For Central there are 22 starters back from the spring abbreviated season. That is a once in a lifetime kind of statistic. I hope we find some solutions to the defense that UD threw at us last year. Admire the quality of the UD non conference competition. Wishing Central was the team playing Hope College, our sister school with an amazing team moniker. Let the good times roll!

Okay, I went back and checked the class breakdown for Central players.
48 FR
31 SO
29 JR
13 SR
15 5TH

2 more 5th year returnees than regular seniors. Another once in a lifetime statistic for Central.

Oops.  Both easy wins for Central.

We are living in strange times.  I take nothing for granted.

I think Central blows St. Olaf out of the water.

I wish Central had more challenging non conference games. Would love to see them play some playoff caliber teams so they have a better idea how they really stack up. I don't mean offense to any opponent and anyone can beat you if you don't show up, but I would like to see them playing teams with a winning record. UD is doing a much better job of that than Central.
