Do you think that Wartburg got any help in the passing game? I know they didn't perform very well in that area last year.

I've heard the rumors about Simpson also.Possibly the offensive co-ordinator getting the job?

I'm not sure about QB's. I know they had some first-year starters there last year that were pretty young. I know there is some help coming in the recieving corp to complement Duchman.

Yeah, you have to love how the Gazette makes the school out to be "Big Bad Wartburg."  I'm sure if it wasn't for Wartburg's new facilities, nobody in the conference would be building new stuff.  What a load.

Wartburg Radio Changes Frequency
THE ONE is NO MORE. Friday the home of Wartburg Sports - KWAR completed the required frequency change and power boost. I have not been to W'loo but full coverage to and past Waterloo should be possible.
The new frequency is 89.9.

So change the pre-sets in the auto.

I'll have to do that.
Right now 89.1 sits as #5b in my car and I check it out every time I'm within 5 blocks of the school.

After seeing Coe's facilities, they shold be ashamed to charge the tuition they do. Their football field and practice facilities are just an injury waiting to happen. And the fieldhouse isn't much better. I would hope the improvements they are making will at least bring them up to the middle of the IIAC.

Athletic facilities aren't the sole expense or benefit covered by tuition, you know. :)

I agree, but your facilities-especially the athletic ones-are the face of your institution. When you are going to spend $100,000 on an education, you want to be sure that you get what you pay for. I know that you shouldn't buy on looks alone, but all other things equal, you want to go where the facilities are nicer.

The Show

Found out last week that one of our O-Linemen from JSPC will be attending Wartburg and playing football.  Won't be an impact player right away, but he's the type of kid who will do whatever the coach asks and is a guy who always puts the team first.  Hopefully he does well.

Guys- this is a message board...rumors are suppose to fly. What have you heard about the coaching staff at Simpson? As I have said before, I played for Williams, so I don't know the current coaching staff, but they certainly haven't lit up the conference (except for the '03 playoffs, but that was with mostly Williams-recruited players).

footballdaddy

I've heard from several sources that Niemand is on thin ice and that Lounsberry was brought in to take over if needed. Only rumors,no facts to back it up.

My post was purely speculation. I have no contacts to the Simpson program other than coaching with Williams and he is quite far away from what goes on there (at least claims to be).
I just know what Simpson is used to and what they've had the last few years don't line up so I figure something's going to change.

Simpson went 6-4, 6-4, 4-6 in the 3 years before Nieman took over.  I know they were used to some success but it's not like he took over a team that had just come off a championship season or something.
