To put an end to the speculation, yes Neil Suckow worked for Steege Construction this summer who was doing some work on Koehler's house.
Did Koehler hire Steege Construction because Suckow worked for them? Heck no.
Can you imagine the outrage at Coe if Koehler even said something in jest to Neil about transferring over the summer. I know it didn't happen anyway but I don't think ANY coach that's smart enough to get a head job would approach another team's player about transferring.
[BTW Walston did your brother play football for Wartburg and graduate in i believe 2006squote]

I blazed the trail and graduated in '03 and my bro thought it looked like so much fun that he decided to give it a whirl. Even though I was the better athlete, he ended up getting more accolades because all the coaches around the league felt sorry for him.

Funny, not sure that's how it went down though.

If either of you played ball as well as you talk trash, who know how many accolades would have rolled in.

In all seriousness, I might have paid good money to see you two go at it in your primes.

A true team player will welcome any quality addition that improves the team's chances for winning,no matter where he came from.
Funny that a term like "team player" would be used in this case. Turncoat STILL hasn't returned any calls placed by his former teammates, coaches or fans.

As for the talk about conference rule changes, I highly doubt the conference will enact a rule to govern such an unusual circumstance. Seems to me "The Golden Rule" would apply. Pulling the rug out from under your team just before camp opens doesn't seem like doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Maybe that's why he wasn't man enough to look anybody in the eye.

That was the beauty of having a large living room Sportsknight--lots of room to wrestle. We knocked a lot of plaster off the ceiling of the basement and usually ended up too tired to finish. So we could get a clear-cut winner, we started "sock wrestling" where we each wear one sock and the winner is the person who can get the sock off the other. I am undefeated in that.
Dave-don't know about Kuennen. He played in 2 games and completed 1 of 4 passes so I assume that would mean he was the third choice last year. Not a bad guy to have as your third string QB.

I have talked to  Kuennen during the school year and he said he thought he was going to give up on football and focus on baseball.

Although I guess I dont know if he ever did though....

Charlie I can understand your frustration, but isn't it time to move on now that you've had a chance to vent?Maybe there's been too much emphasis on Sucow leaving and not enough on the players who didn't.I know some of the Coe players, and they are all quality ball players. The implication that Coe's season is lost because of one player leaving maybe doesn't give the other players the respect they deserve.I look for Coe to rally together and still be the tough opponent they always are.

BTW, why would a fan ever call a player for any reason?

FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

neither coaches can discuss the transfer at the current time, or at least thats what the raeburn said last week, i dont know if it was updated.   he would have anything to say since suckow still hasnt talked to him or anyone else for that matter.
i think charlie was implying a friend that doesnt play football, which would constitute as a fan?

I was wondering the same thing...

As far as high school teams, I root for the western side of the state...Jefferson-Scranton (JSPC) obviously, I also like to see Carroll win (alma mater) and Hampton-Dumont as my brother-in-law is the principal up there. Speaking of turncoats, if anyone knew of the rivalry between Carroll and Jefferson, it was awkward at first putting on red and black instead of the orange and black. Not as big of a deal now that we (Jefferson) are 2A.

Oh, also, I don't mind seeing Carroll-Kuemper lose... ;)

If Carrol's performance at Central's team camp is any indication of how this season will go, their fans will be in for a treat.
I met your brother in law at a certain DC's bachelor party in May. At least I assume it was your bro in law

How much impact will Suckow have at Wartburg? Hes an all conference player and that will help but will they put him in the backfield and replace Vanrees or at receiver? I dont know that it will make a huge difference as far as wartburg is concerned, they were going to be 1st or 2nd before as far as i was concerned and thats where they will be now that he is there. I think it hurts Coe a lot, he was going to be there major weapon this year so it could in all theory drop them a game or two in the loss column. I still believe it will come to Central and Wartburg but I dont think adding suckow gives the burg any advantage that would change the aspect of that game, just adds a weapon. Just my opinion though.
