Ok, so far we have the whole season.  What time do we say cut off the picks?  12 pm Saturday? I don't believe any games start before 12 PM Central time do they?
Thought we would get the ground rules going.  Less than two weeks out.

Based on my research, this conference is in for a surprise. I beleive the competition is a bit overrated, a few good players here and there will make a difference.

I'm going to take the underdog:

1. Cornell
2. Dubuque
3. Wartburg
4. Central
5. Coe
6. BV
7. Loras
8. Luther
9. Simpson

Conference Standings Predictions
1.  Central/Wartburg - I know its as gutless as you can get, but my divided loyalties prevent me from making a call here.  I do think the IIAC title gets decided Nov. 10 in Waverly, and both teams get postseason bids.
3.  Loras - Call it a hunch.
4.  BV - Could be just as good as Loras.
5.  Dubuque - Has the mentality changed at Chalmers?  If so, Sparty could be as high as 3rd this year.
6.  Coe - Not just a Suckow thing.  Can this team play big in big games and avoid tripping on themselves in smaller ones?
7.  Luther - Sherdan will help them win a few, but I just don't see that defense and a new QB doing much damage.
8.  Simpson - Is this Niemann's curtain call?
9.  Cornell - Things have been thin on The Hilltop for a good long while now.  Don't expect a change in year 2 of Marshall Dillon.

1. Central - Defense wins championships and the Dutch are aligned again with a good one. As well as many proven weapons on offense at all skill positions.
2. Wartburg - Speaking of defense I think the difference here will be their lack of an experienced QB and special teams when they meet the Dutch on the 10th.
3. Loras - I think they will be the sleeper team this year. I agree with Sportsknight.
4. Dubuque/BV - I think they are both fairly talented and if Dubuque can put their heads on right and play as a team they will be coming out as high as 3rd by themselves although BV has talent as well. They have to not lose to anyone below in my opinion.
6. Luther - Sherden helps but without Sweers and Pearson teams will be able to focus on stopping the run.
7. Coe - Only return 2 starters on offense and lost their most explosive player. Tekippe needs a running game and receivers to make this offense work. Defense will be ok but just not overall talented enough. Wake up call in CR this year.
8. Cornell - Return enough starters to win 1 maybe 2 this year. Although the talent level cant match the top 3 or 4 teams.
9. Simpson - Didn't show much promise last year. Look for more of the same.

Well I dont know. Its kind of a crapshoot with Coe, Dubuque and Loras as far as Im concerned, depends on what team shows up every saturday for them. Other than that its the safe bet to take Central/Wartburg if you look at the last 20 years or so! Im ready for some football!!

Cornell I believe plays two games at noon this year. One against Alma on Sept. 8 and the other is against Coe which is the last game of the season. So having the picks in by noon should still work I would think.

Wartburg Fan

1 Central

2 Wartburg ( One and Two depend of QB for Wartburg ) I also think it comes down to the game on the 10th of Nov.

3 Dubuque/ BV    Can't make up my mind on this one.

5 Luther

6 Coe

7 Simpson

8 Cornell   I think their one year away.

DutchFan2004

wow with all the pics coming in that is good.  The pics here are not lining up with the D3 previews.

here are mine

1 Central  I pick them because of the QB situation.

2 Wartburg  The d of Wartburg will carry them past many a team

3 UD  I think they edge out coe this year

4 Coe  The O may be empty but I think Tekippe can carry them this far

5  Loras

6 BV  5-6 could change if the teams don't take care of business

7 Luther  They could sneek up on some teams maybe as high as 5

8 Simpson  If the Storm can get the O line going they could move up

9 Cornell  Lets get an IIAC win and then we can talk about getting out of the cellar

I will try naming who will lead the IIAC this year

Leading rusher- As much as I would like it to be someone from the burg. I will have to  say Schurring from Central

Leading Passer- Tekippe  Coe

leading tackler- Goodchild, Gerdardy  Wartburg   Can't help myself

Leading Reciever  The kid from Dubuque

Players to watch- Tate Harrison Coe this kid is going to be good if he can stay injury free. He is A great kid, I watched him play thru high school.  Suckrow  Wartburg catching the ball

Subject to change...as always...

1. Wartburg 9-1  7-1  Stumbles against UD again
2. Central ---9-1  7-1  Loses at Wartburg to close the season
3. Dubuque  8-2  6-2  Gets pounded by Central and Loras
4. BV ---------5-5  4-4  Wins head-to-head against Coe
5. Coe --------5-5  4-4  Goes on a run to end the year, lack of o-line hurts early
6. Loras ------4-6  4-4  Tough non-con schedule I think maybe
7. Luther -----4-6  2-6  I see them beatin Loras and Simpson
8. Cornell -----3-7  1-7  Beats Luther, Loses to Simpson but wins both non-cons
9. Simpson ---2-8  1-7   Beats Cornell head-to-head but splits non-con
