I am a big fan of the Pease kid at Luther.  He has a big leg now if he can make some big kicks.

Most definitely.

Question of the day.
Cornell defeats Coe 27-17.
If you're only going to win one conference game (if that), you might as well dream big. Few, if any teams will score 27 on the Kohawks this year though.

Ok Cornell defeats Coe 24-17

I agree though that Coe will have a good Defense

Is Coe still scrimmaging UW-Platteville?

Coe will not lose to Cornell.  The best way to slow down a wing-T offense is to have team speed on defense.  I think that Coe will have the fastest set of LBs in the conference in Harrison and Thomas.

Coe scrimmages Platville this Saturday.  Hopefully Raeburn doesn't let Tekippe even break a sweat and only go about 1 series.
Herzberger was above average his freshmen year but after that it was all down hill.  he missed critical field goals and extra points last year, might even have cost coe some games.
coe does have a more than adequate replacement for herzberger this year.   elliot rausa from waterloo columbus will be better then herzberger, mainly becuase he has better talant, but he also actually has a work ethic

Rausa's got a good leg.  I thought he was going to UNI though.

Kyle Wickwire did a very good job in at least 2004 and 2005 for the Norse, but Pease did not show the same leg in games last year.  I can't tell you how he looks in practice on a daily basis (whether he shows a bigger leg there), but I have heard that Jordan Grimm, a freshman from Cedar Rapids Kennedy, might be at least handling kickoff duties this year.  Pease had decent overall numbers last year, as he was 3rd in the league in FG% and PAT%.

Chris Kemmerer from B.V. looked very good against Luther last year.  He was 3-3 in that game with the winning kick being from 47 yards in overtime (Luther missed a 42-yard kick at the end of regulation and a 24-yard kick in overtime).  Kemmerer led the Iowa Conference in field goals made and field goal percentage.

I saw the Coe-Central 4th quarter and overtimes last year and both kicking games looked shaky.  The field wasn't in very good shape at all, but a couple of the misses weren't close.  I suppose the new field at both schools will help in recruiting kickers. :)

I think that Pease's numbers were very good for someone that was a first time starter.  I have heard that about Grimm as well.  Kemmerer is the cream of the crop as far as returning kickers go in the IIAC.

He older brother Nate goes to UNI and kicks there.  Elliot was thinking Iowa or Iowa State but wanted to play tennis along with football
