Four year lurker, first time poster.

I need some help from the orange faithful.  Have family near the game tomorrow who want to tailgate.  Most are not active football supporters (I know I left myself wide open on that one), but are coming to watch their cousin/nephew/etc. play.  Where would be a good place to set up a tailgate for 20-25?  Can we set up in one of the parking lots?

Any help would be appreciate.  Should be a great game.

.....Luther and Waldorf:

The danger is that the Norse will take Waldorf too lightly and look beyond them to Coe.  Waldorf has a fine running back who could play on any team in the IIAC. Good downhill runner.  They have used a rather traditional offensive attack but swing to wide receivers on occasion.  Neither LC nor BV (next week) should take them too lightly.

There is park to the NW of the football field or just west of the tennis courts. There will be a huge Wartburg tailgate but it a Big  Park

Heard from the internet guy earlier today.  He found the file and it should be online for download.  Better get it quick, though, since tomorrow's game should be uploaded by about 5:00 tomorrow afternoon.

It is in the best interests of Central, Wartburg, and Dubuque to see Bethel win tomorrow and then lose to the Johnnies.  That would probably ensure that the MIAC would only have one playoff team.

Wartburg has to win the conference in order to get into the playoffs. Wartburg's loss to Augsburg at home  (Augsburg gives up 58 pts on average in MIAC games - they are bad) pretty much kills them in any comparison to other teams with two losses.  Both Bethel and St. Olaf with two losses would get in before them.

How does the Bethel loss to a back of the IIAC pack BV team, not count against the Royals...do we all look the other way and say "aww, that was just the first game."  Bethel with two losses should not necessarily get in "automatically" over Wartburg...if the Kanigits were to lose to Central and otherwise win out.

You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

SK:

Your home boy did OK coaching tonight.  The Muskies put 48 on the board in the first half and I was home to watch the 10:00 news.

Purple Heys,

I thing you have it correct.  Bethel won't get a pass for losing to BV.  The Knights if they are second and Bethel finishes second will make an interesting race to see who would get a bid.  What would help both the IIAC and  MIAC is for the WIAC beat each other up some more.

And the Curie Condors are heading to the State Playoffs!!!!   ;DWe won our first round game in the City Playoffs to get to 6-3 and get an automatic berth in the big dance.  We will find out what the playoff pairings are at 8:30 tonight.

Congrats to all the HS coaches who won this week and best of luck to those who are playoff bound  :)  The "second" season starts next week...

Well said Heys, +K to you...you CANNOT overlook that Bethel loss to BV if you are the playoff selection committee.  And if anything, the Wartburg loss to Augsburg looks better than the Bethel loss to BV because Augsburg plays in a tougher conference this year.
Go Norse!!!

I agree with you guys, if Bethel loses today or loses to SJU, no matter what they do today, they will likely be out-if you guys have one lose team and undefeated Central. Also, Bethel has not won a game in the playoffs, so that has to be considered. (I know Pat would say otherwise and the criteria say otherwise). Would be interesting if St. Olaf wins out and your second place team also has one loss. But both conferences have to be worried about the WIAC and how many teams they might get into the playoffs.
