Sounds like that would have been a heck of a game to go to.  I was stuck here with the flu so I wasn't able to go outside and fire up the lucky lawn mower.

Congrats to the Dutch.  I'm thinking finding a way to win each weekend will help them in November if they are able to make the playoffs.

Great game to listen to!  I was going for the underdog, but it was hard to choose a underdog during this game!  It would have been nice to see the spartans win this one.  Central gets it done again, not pretty, but a win is a win!  Great game again.  Congrats to all of the winners out there in the IIAC!

Go beavers!

Congrats on a hard fought game in Dubuque today!! Sounds like two solid football teams and its too bad Dubuque will not be able to make the playoffs this year. Great game by Connell and Huisman among others, Mulder with the huge sack in OT. Not good giving up so many yards but Ill take the W. Central in the drivers seat for at least a playoff birth now...keep on rolling boys!

Jeez, why can't we put anyone away?

I think not being able to run the ball and punish teams is hurting Central.  Call me old school, but back in the day when you could count on Central to run it 50 times a game and rush for 250 yards a game, you couldn't stop them.

I know the spread offense is the fad, but it's awfully tough to control the flow of a game when you can't run the ball consistently.

Oh well...another win for the Dutch.....now on to the Knight Light Supper Club for the BEST postgame meal in the Iowa Conference!

I am sure the spartans will be fine against Loras.  This game might be a motivator and there could be a offensive explosion next week in Dubuque by the Spartans!  Loras will have trouble with their O, and being homecoming the Spartans will be coming out with a W.

DutchHawk

Knight Light Supper Club is amazing...a deserved treat. Its hard to put teams away when everyone is gunning for you. The conference has gotten so much better for the most part top to bottom as well! Great to have Vance out there full time again.

Dooey...I blame you, son.

You gotta suck it up.  Your team needed you out there (on the mower) today!

:D

WOW! That was a dissapointing game to watch today as I expected more from Coe. 3 first half TD's from Suckow including an electrifying 66 yard punt return made this game never in doubt. Even from the opening possession where the Knights picked off a pass and easily marched 31 yards to the enzone. I believe it was 3 or 4 of the first 5 plays went to Suckow on passes and don't think that wasn't on purpose. Anyone who tried to downplay him leaving CR earlier this year was sorely mistaken.
HUGE homecoming crowd on hand.
Everyone at Wartburg is walking around with big smiles on their face with the new athletic facility. WOW!. To be honest with you, I don't know how a potential student-athlete could say no to Wartburg right now. That place is IMPRESSIVE.
On a side note-Do Coe fans always leave at halftime and not come back? The parking lot was full of them after the half, but the bleachers were empty.
Congrats to the Dutch on a huge win today. Looking forward to getting through the next 2 weeks unscathed so we can have Gameday in Waverly on the 10th.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Wartburg Fan

Wasn't able to make it to Waverly today first homecoming in  4yrs i've missed but listen to it on the net. Sounded like a complete game from the Knights. Coe's QB took a beating today not sure how many times he was sacked, but more important how many times he got hit in the game. Suckrow played lights out the first half. Scoring all three TD's in the game. Anyone that went to the Knight game would really like to hear your comments. How about that game in Dubuque, when is Centrals luck going to run out if you can it luck. they just know how to win.

Conqrats to all the winners today.

Central-Dubuque must have been a great game!!  Central is a "do it team" for many years.

Luther 58  Waldorf 7.    A loooooong game.

Luther scored 4 TD's in 1st Quarter and one 2 point conversion to end the quarter at 29-0.  2 passes and 2 runs for TD.

Second Q:  Luther 2 TD's, one pass, one run, one FG hit upright.  LC 42 Waldorf 0 at the half.

Third Q:   Sherden makes 50yard run at 14:49.  LC 49-0.  First team O and D on the bench.  Berger scores at 10:49.  LC 56-0
Fourth Q:  Waldorf QB throws ball behind own end line.  Luther safety.  LC 58-0.  Waldorf starts rolling and scores at 11:08.  LC 58 Waldorf 7.

Sherden had 185 yards in basically one half.

Waldorf and BV's open date next week I believe.

So why aren't the Central coaches calling for a fg!!!

I was yelling at the radio -  those coaches just won't listen to me!  what a game, somebody at DBQ has got to fill us in, did Clayton get rocked on that OT fumble or just drop it, sounds like the Central fumble was a big hit at the goal line. Being a homer I'd say it sounds like the Dutch should of won it there with a good call.  It sounded like a TD to me!!!   ;)  I'm sure glad Jermar Jackson is a senior.

Ain't this IIAC stuff a blast close games all over the place and quite a title run up to today.  Now its getting narrowed down, but we must take nothing for granted.

Way to go Dutch!

Damn!  Can the Spartans bounce back for Homecoming against Loras next week?

Spartans should easily handle Loras.  As long as they don't lose focus having seen their playoff chances all but evaporate...tough break for a very good team.

Too bad there's no D3 NIT tournament.  Jackson deserves an Aztec Bowl consideration.
