How are you supposed to act???  Are you kidding me?!?

Here's some HOW TO ACT AFTER LOSING 101:
Wartburg is a very, very tough team. But if you don't know how to act after a loss, then you don't deserve to win a single game until you learn how to handle a loss. You don't come on the boards and bash the teams you lost to and say that they are just lucky and the refs blew the game for you. YOU ACT LIKE MEN. MEN PLAY FOOTBALL. Instead of spending your time downtrodding the teams that you lost to, maybe encourage your kid and his football buddies to hit the weights. Focus on their technique. Do some running. GET READY FOR NEXT SEASON. That's how you act.

P.S. I think I have a little experience in this area after being on a team in high school that went from 0-9 freshman year to 8-3 senior year including a 1 point loss in state quarterfinals to the eventual state champions.

This is the only time I'm going to comment on this. I can take anything anyone says about me on here, but don't tell lies about my kid. Did you watch him get up at 6:00 am to lift before working 8 hours before doing 1 1/2 hrs condidtiong in 90+ degreee heat four days a week this summer? Or lifting with one arm while the other was in a sling from shoulder surgery for three months? Or outlifting all the linemen on his high school team but one-and he was the quarterback? Unless you know him, don't talk about him.

I also agree Wartburg has no one to blame but themselves for their situation, but until a IIAC team makes a playoff run,no one will get the respect they deserve in the postseason.

#9271
#11Trinity vs. #4Mary Hardin Baylor

#13Muhlenberg vs. #10Salisbury

#2UW-Whitewater vs. #14Capital

Three reasons Wartburg fans should be glad they didn't make the playoffs.

The loser of these games will sink below Wartburg in the final rankings, so without playing a game Wartburg should go from #15 to #12.  Unless the Franklin vs. North Central winner leap frogs them,  but they are guaranteed to move up to #13 I would think.
They would have to win two playoff games to improve on that.
Just trying to look on the bright side Wart.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Wow the Storm didn't load their schedule at all did they?  One or the other is not bad but both is a pretty weak schedule IMO.

I think scheduling Grandview is a nice bone to throw out.  A probable win and you are playing for potential recruits in the Des Moines area.  And always nice to help out a team in your near area.  As far as Northwestern...we don't really know just how hard it is to schedule opponants...who is willing to play you and what not.  Plus, if you feel like you are headed south in the win column, scheduling some soft opponants isn't always a bad idea!!!

I will agree with this and also second that SC will want to be prepared for this one.  Everyone assumed BV scheduled the cupcake with Waldorf and got their butts beat last year.

Does anyone know if Grandview is building a new facility or if they will be playing at a high school staduim.

Also look at Morningside who went from playing a JV schedule to a national title contender a couple of years ago.  They are still playing good football up that way as well.

We are all now dumber after reading how to lose 101.  What a joke.  Boo this man.

I did here of a resignation in Decorah. This saddens me a bit, as I think coach Hefty is a good coach and a better person.[/quote]

That is truly too bad.
Is he going elsewhere to coach?
...............................................
One of the assistant coaches did confirm that Paul Hefty has resigned at Luther.  No pressure from the administration, simply his choice as I understand it.  It is a great loss to Luther athletics and to the team in general.

Now the search begins......

Went over to the MIAA board to see if I could find out a little more about Olivet...that place is like a ghost town.  Central really needs to put the blinders on, and focus on practice this week, and put the hay in the barn against Olivet on Saturday.  For some reason this unexpected #1 seed, and "weaker" draw in the first round makes me a little nervous.  From the look of things on the MIAA board, Olivet will be rolling into Pella with little more than the guys on the team bus, and nothing to lose.

DutchHawk

Coach Mac and his crew will have the men ready to roll Saturday. You can be sure last years defeat left a bitter taste in their mouth and they arent going to let Olivet ruin what they have worked so hard for. Coach Anderson has had the Dutch outworking everyone for 4 years now and its obviously paying off. Getting up before 6am during the season a couple times a week to lift and work out as well as the offseason workouts. They have earned their seed and everything this group has worked for, its time to go out and prove themselves on the national stage now. We only get stronger later in the game and later in the season. Just ask everyone weve beaten in the 4th quarter. There is no quit.

To borrow from our Linfield friends....LEAVE NO DOUBT!!

They are in an 8 team league that posted a 7-17 nonconference record, including 0 wins against teams that finished above 500.  Want another IIAC team to do your heavy lifting?

I heard he did some plumbing/handyman-type jobs at Koehler's house this past Summer...  ;)

No problem I get the meaning loud and clear.  Well sounds like he has a plan and that it is working for him.  That is a good thing.  You can not blame a guy for bettering himself or trying to do that.  The IIAC is losing a good man from what I know.
