Congrats to the Dutch on a nice-looking performance yesterday!!  Keep it rolling and roll through those turds from up north :)  You'll have to get through 2 of them to get to Mt. Union!!  All eyes on the Johnnies... continue to do the IIAC proud!!!

Holy crap, we've been over run by people who think their Johnnies are worth bragging about all the time.  They must drive Porsches to overcompensate . . . .

Old Dutch;  You are my favorite kind of potato... however you are indeed right about the Porsche.
Stay away from their tortilla chips though, not so good.  BTW OD, there are a few folks on the MIAC board who no longer can drive, much less have a Porsche. ::)

Your lack of understanding of what it means to me and thousands of others to be a Johnnie is clear in your extremely misguided comments.

+k...I couldn't have said it better.  What it means to be a Johnnie will never be fully understood by others - particularly by schools that are selling their souls for the sake of adult education (aka - $$$$$$)  and the additional revenues that an evening MBA program can bring.  It's like "St. Thomas-Lite" or something.

I see Connell and Kofeod having quite the battle Saturday with Schuring breaking some runs for the difference maker!

Schuring vs. unranked Olive Oil
Vance Schuring 17-91; 1-11

Patnode vs. No. 19 Redlands
Mike Patnode 24-113, 6-67

I thought Schuring was injured earlier this year and done for the season?  Must have read that wrong...I am looking forward to seeing how the Johnnies D line matches up with the O line at Central...to be honest I can't believe there is a better O-Line that the J's have face than Bethel...

So Schuring averages 5.4 per carry to Patnode's 4.7.  And that's a slam on Vance?  Try harder.

P.S. - The Dutch don't utilize their RB as a major part of their pass offense.  Apples and oranges.

What's wrong with you Iowans?  645 pages on your board to 2500 or so on the MN board?  I understand that you may not have had much to write about but that hasn't stopped the Linfield posters.  You should spend time on that board and see how it's done.  I just re-watched Central's miracle in the mud against Linfield in 2000.  I like Linfield but that was pretty funny.  If AK-11 throws off of his front foot most of the day, we have a good shot at beating you but if he gets happy feet and starts throwing off of his back foot when he's hurried we're in for a long day.  I don't know who is/was more frustrating to watch: AK-11 or Corey Stanger.  Stanger had a gun for an arm when he wanted to use it.  Regardless of the outcome, Brice and I (and if we're lucky, Big Fella) will raid both Dutch bakeries in that highly provincial community.   What would an "Anderson" or "Sarsgaard" do in Pella?  The Dutch must have some issue with being clean which is a good thing.  I think that's the cleanest and most ordered town I've ever seen.  Sounds like Pella needs a Sal's or Midway to poison the barrel.   Pella will have to re-work its sanitation system if Big Fella comes.

Dutch,
OK, I'll make it easy:

180 yards of offense vs. 111 (vs. a team that came in 6-4)

OR

2 TDs vs. zip (vs. a team that lost to some gal named Alma)

OR

Take out that 37 yard run (more than 1/3 of his total) and Schuring averaged 3.4 per carry (vs. a team that monkeystomped by Elmhurst).

Sure, Freebird, which is why UW-RF upped ticket prices and charged for parking for the SJU game there this season ...

How has Bethel traveled to its previous 2nd round games?

So next week are going to have a 3rd round joke lined up?  Get them in while you can because they are getting weaker and weaker.

You gotta beat EC first, freebird.  This week is gonna be twice as good.  Looks like we get to put the Dutch in the oven and then we get to hear you talk about how winning your first playoff game, even if you lost the next, made this year a raging success.  I can't believe I'm living on the other side of the world and missing all this action.

Can someone please direct me to the Iowa Conference chat room.  I seem to have wandered into the St. Johns site by mistake.

BTW, I was never "slamming" Schuring. I was just responding to a poster who said he'd be the difference as the QBs battle ... and pointing out that SJU has a running back who's no slouch as well.

Touchdown Tommy

Pretty funny that Freebird would come to the IIAC board to yap.  He doesn't have the Cajones to do it on the MIAC board.  That Karma would plummet faster than mine has.

Somebody must feel empowered now that his squad "Finally" got that ever elusive 1st playoff win in school history.  Now you start to play the big boys.  Should be very interesting...
