You MIAC guys are a little touchy. I wasn't trying to start an arguement or rehash an old one. (Aside from a thinly vieled shot at the bottom of your conference) I just said that St Johns would be in the playoff picture for the forseeable future. Didn't expect a lot of debate over that. But thanks for taking the time to research semi-valuable non-coference history.

St. Olaf could have been in the playoff picture.  They won't be in it for some time again now that most of their Florida imports are graduating.  They had a really good team this year though.  I agree that the 2000 Central team was a force to be reckoned with.  Since then, Central and the IIAC have been down generally.  We'll see this weekend.  After Saturday, I could be eating my crow like any Linfield fan.  The NWC got really hosed this  year.

Mr.Shoes

old school, you rattle off all those predicted stats like SJU is just another "same as always" team. This isn't Wartburg or Coe or BV coming to Pella (obviously). This is the team that ended Central's perfect season last year. The last time SJU gave up 35 points and lost was 2002 at Trinity, TX in the National Semis. Yes, St. Thomas dropped 34 on us this year, but we threw in 51 for s**** and giggles. When UWW beat us badly in 2005, we still "held" them to 34. There's no way whatsoever that this week's game turns into a shootout and SJU loses. No way.
Nice day, huh?

So DF2K and old school are from the same town!!!  I hadn't noticed that.  DF2K, be very proud of your son.  Central has a talented team but I think it was your sons leadership that pulled them through some tight spots this season.  I'm still not sure I can forgive him though for that final drive in regulation against UD this year.  They will be talking about that drive for a long long time.  That is of course unless Central makes it to the final four this year.  If our state had not gone to the dreaded district format for football I would have been able to see him play in high school.  We live in La Porte so we are old high school conference rivals.

Here is to a good game saturday and I hope the Dutch win the game.

Naturally St Johns will be back next year, and the year after, and forever. With so many conference foes so deeply planted in abyss, you start every season three wins shy of being playoff eligible.

Thunderbolt...do you have any working knowledge of the MIAC?  We just dispatched a team that would have had trouble finishing in the top 4 of our conference...last year's Central team was good, but I am not sure you could have beaten Bethel or St. Olaf which would have put you 4th in our league...and didn't AUGSBURG beat your runner up?  Our lesser programs are getting better...Hamline beat the Tommies and Carleton gave the J's a real battle and I am not sure anyone wanted to play Concordia at the end of the year...so kindly be quiet about things you have no knowledge of.

VOJ...Do you have any working knowlege of the IIAC.  If so spout something out so that we can atleast stand to read what you write and not pass it ove like a dead deer on the side of the road.

I know this...the IIAC has been a non-factor in the West since 2000

You could have gained that knowledge by looking at the front page of d3football.com.

I'm not sure working knowledge, would describe much of whats gone on the last twenty five pages, since you guys moved in. But you did ask nicely.

Purple Heys

Did anyone notice how quiet it got for awhile when someone mentioned dead deer road kill.

It's almost like some pavlovian response triggered all the MIAC guys to get up and go to the fridge for some bacon, cheetohs,  and Hamms.

Wrong conference, Purple. It's Wisconsin where the people have things for roadkill.
That one hurts Mr Shoes, as I just got done butchering a deer in Wisconsin.

Not having bothered to read the last several pages, one thing is clear -- Wartburg can't hold a candle to the Johnnies in the holier-than-thou department. Wow! Go Dutch!

Actually, I have watched the west region playoffs for the last 9 years...and coincidently its been about that long since an IOWA team played for a berth in the FINAL FOUR...

Johnnies by a touchdown!

(And if you're a Johnnie fan, that's the last thing you want to read coming from oAs's computer.)

Can't wait for Dutch letters and a good excuse to get out of the family Thanksgiving environment in Des Moines!!

When did Wartburg become Holier-than-thou, I thought that Central held that name.
