Spent some time at the Irish Democrat.  Nice place.
Yes it is.  I was there for a lunch last week.  Probably hadn't been there in 5 or 6 years, but it is still a great spot with a lot of character.  From what I hear, it has been doing great since the smoking ban went into effect.  Apparently it could get pretty thick in there before last July

Spent a week in the Riviera Maya drinking, eating, and smoking cuban cigars
I'm very jealous of this segment of your trip.  At the same time, I'm very to have not gone through the headaches you had to.

End Note:  The book Boy Will be Boys is an outstanding reading choice for you football fans.  Its the true story of the Cowboys Dynasty in the 90's and how out of control everything was.
Seconded.  Just finished it over the weekend.  Jeff Perlman did a great job of weaving the entertaining off the field stories in with the contentious on the field/front office issues.  It didn't seem like he got a lot of help from Jimmy Johnson, Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, or Mike Irvin (can't say I'm surprised they didn't want to comment on a lot of the stuff mentioned).  That said, he made very good use of quotes from newspapers and other reports from back in the day to get a first-person account of some of the things that went on.  Very good read all the way around.

Off the record...I did manage to smuggle 25 back into the states, so I might be inclined to part ways with one for you this Christmas season.

i always go there with high hopes, but leave feeling unsatisfied (Russian accent ala Rounders).  They have probably the best (and possibly only) cheese wantons in the city.  I am, however, very excited for the Tilted Kilt that may finnaly open sometime (it's been pushed back roughly 3 months

I'd gladly take that as a substitute for the hot dogs you promised everyone earlier this fall.   ;)

Also, isn't footballdaddy in the law enforcement industry in some capacity?  We better keep this on the DL.

Sounds like what everyone on this board has said.   :)

Actually Wartburg Fan is, but I know him personally. I'd think a cigar each could buy our silence!

Hmmm....I thought he was in the automotive industry.  But if you are around DM over the holiday season I am sure that we can set up a covert opperation.  We can call it operation Cuban Missile ;)
