BTW:  Did anyone watch the Sunday night game?  I am not a fan of NYG or Carolina, but for an old olineman it was nice to see an NFL game that came down to running the football vs. throwing it all over hells half acre.

Does that mean you were a better run blocker than pass protector???

And too out of shape to keep running down the field after a 30 yard reception???

Just kidding ;D

Plus, I thought you had said you were D-line?  Something about being listed at 240 instead of 225 because BV didn't want the other team running all their plays towards the small guy on the line...but I am usually wrong...just ask my wife ;)

Nice to hear Freddie and Coe College get a shout out during the Vikings vs. Falcons right after the game break showing Freddie's TD.

Go Kohawks!
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Three topics of discussion to drive the conversation around here over the next week now that the D3 season is officially over:

3.  How about your favorite NFL team?  I imagine we'll have plenty of Viking/Bear/Packer fans on this board, although you never know.

The Buffalo Bills, of course!

that was a great shoutout to Freddie....and back-to-back games with a TD runs...both very good runs!  I never get tired of the shoutouts thrown to Freddie and Coe College!

Purple Heys

1. I would like a Blu-Ray player...it could even be a PS3... I have a kick-ass TV but nothing to truly exploit its capabilities as even Cox Digital Cable does not measure up with only 1080i.  I don't want to have to go to Satellite.  I will.  But I don't want to.  I've been so busy painting the house, fixing the bathroom, and fixing fences that I am still not onto my shopping.   :o

2. My fantasy football is that the Cornell Rams win an IIAC game.  I had a bad year.   :(

3. The Chargers are still in it.  After all that to still have a chance.  Next week will be a cool thing.

4.  I have a lot to be thankful for.  First and foremost is health of family and friends.  Despite economic recession or fire or flood or winless seasons or whatever.  Having a healthy family and a host of friends...including you mugs who I enjoy chuckling with, barking at and occasionally meeting up with when I can get to a game in Iowa (or one of you gets out to SoCal); makes this as good a year as one has a right to have asked for.

:)

As much as I enjoy watching the Stagg Bowl on ESPN, they really need to get a better set of announcers than Pam Ward and Ray Bentley for this ballgame.

I'm obviously a few days behind -- Pam Ward drives me nuts. I can't stand her -- I'm all for equality, but there are more knowlegeable people (men and women alike) out there that could do a better job. Her creative prounounciation grates on my last nerve!

Three topics of discussion to drive the conversation around here over the next week now that the D3 season is officially over:

1.  What are you hoping to get for Christmas?  Are you particularly proud of anything that you bought for somone else?

2.  How did your fantasy football team(s) do this season?  Any champions around here?

3.  How about your favorite NFL team?  I imagine we'll have plenty of Viking/Bear/Packer fans on this board, although you never know.

1. I have no idea what to expect under the tree, but I am fairly proud of what I did for my family this year. I paid to have a professional photographer take family pics, and then I had them mounted and framed. For what it cost, my mom had better like it!

1a. Do you guys have any gift ideas for a guy that I started seeing a month ago? He's cool, but I'm not ready to put down serious money on a gift for him just yet....any sure-thing gift ideas for me?

2. Fantasy football teams? I didn't do one this year, but I imagine it would have gone about as well as my IIAC Pick 'Ems -- I had an off year. :)

3. Packers fan! Some days I say that with pride, others with humiliation. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Dutchie,

For 1a, how about a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant, or tickets to some event you want to attend?

1.  What are you hoping to get for Christmas?  PS3 would be nice but doubt it...probably just clothes

2.  How did your fantasy football team(s) do this season?  Pretty good...should have won it all, but didn't

3.  How about your favorite NFL team?  Not a huge NFL guy, but my team would be the 49ers..grew up watching them as a dynasty, since TO destroyed them they haven't been very good so I do follow the Bills now with Freddie.

That was my thought....although it seems a tad self-serving, doesn't it?  ;D

gift certificates are the best thing to give a guy that you dont know what he wants/dont want to spend much on.  he will like it, mostly becasue he doesnt have to potientally fake like something so it doesnt hurt your feelings (everybody does this) and guys like gift certificates more then girls, because we dont care about how much you put into the thought of it...
From Bill Simmons on ESPN.com

Gift No. 3: An iTunes gift card. Guys like gift cards. Maybe they aren't sentimental, but we're allowed control over the gift itself. We get to interact with it. We like this. Just get us gift cards. No guy will ever think, "I can't believe my unfeeling girlfriend got me a gift card." We'll think, "She loves me -- she knows I love gift cards." Just trust me

optional gift ideas for him
1. nfl sweatshirt of fav team (if he has one) - also go wiht NBA, MLB, or any pro sports team
1.b same as 1, except substitute college for pro
2.  gift card - to a sports store, or what have you
3.  there are a bunch of good sports books that came out in the last couple of months - being a cowboys fan, i am hoping someone picks me up a copy of Boys will be Boys (about the 90's Cowboys) - if he a reader

thats my 2 cents.

I really liked this book when I read it earlier this fall.  I'm sure you will too if someone picks it up for you.

They need to put a disclaimer about this on their "Whopper Virgins" commercials they have playing now.
