Looking for some info.....what is the weather usually like in Iowa in late April?

What I remember in Dubuque are some early promises of Spring ... chilly nights but some remarkably warm days which got the hormones working overtime.  Spring fever at its best ... or worst ... depending on one's social situation!
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Climate info for Storm Lake, Iowa.  Notice the 15+ degree difference between the 1st and 30th.
When it's 3rd and 10, you can take the milk drinkers, and I'll take the whiskey drinkers every time.

Late April in Iowa is unpredictable at best.  The joke goes if you don't like the weather, just wait around for a few hours.  Because it will then be totally different.

I have been in 8 inches of snow in late April, but I have also been in high 70 degree temps then as well.  DBQ1965 has it about right though.  Nice temps during the day.  Maybe high 60's but then it can get cold at night, maybe getting into the mid 30's or so.

Plus you get grumpy posters on here because football season is still a good 4 plus months away and nobody really got to see any spring practices from our IIAC teams.

Thanks guys....+k for all of you.  I am making a business trip in the latter part of April, just wanted to see what I was in for weather wise.

Weather in late April is grandios.  This is the time when the weather is starting to get better and finals are approaching.  The students on campus are kicking their shoes off and having a good time.  My best memories of school are in April especially the later part of the month!

The first signs of spring do tend to improve attitudes around our state.

And of course your best memories of school would from April.  They sure as $*@% wouldn't be from your exploits on the football field ;D ;D ;D

I kid, I kid, and I know you do have some GREAT memories of your times playing against Dubuque!!!

Wow, Klop, he's got you there!! Are you going to take that from a UD man?  ;D

Just kidding -- it's been a while since I posted, so I thought I would check in. Anyone in the dog house after Saturday? (If you have to ask what Saturday was, I'm sure the answer is "yes." Go directly to the florist. No not pass Go, do not collect $200.)

If anyone forgot Valentines day they will most certainly need MORE than $200 to get themselves out of the dog house.  And no Willie...I'm not talking about that bar 1 block from campus the two of us have been to many times!!!

So, I wonder what this guy got his GF for Valentines day...besides a baby!!!  http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2233878.ece

Won't be in Des Moines for state wrestling.  But I did watch a bit of the IIAC tourney on ITV last night, in between Wii tennis with my son (he won).  It was funny to listen to Dan Gable commentating.  He would get noticably frustrated with the wrestlers.  I kept thinking he would jump up from the commentating booth and run out to the mat to try to coach them.

Worse, I was watching the game from my seat in the pep band ;D

An athlete I am not.  Which was proven in my one and only year of D3 tennis at Dubuque.  Even by UD standards...I was bad ;D
